AU 1805 Daily Tasks 10/1/2013   • Emails and tech support.
• Light prep for interviews.
• Went up to USU. Ended up seeing three of the interns that I had interviewed but they didn’t make the cut. Talked with them a bit and informed them that we had decided on some others. Spent some time recording notes from scratch paper to my notebook. Met up with one of the interns to get him going on his first assignment and getting into adilas. 30 miles.
• On the phone with a client. We went through each employee and the permissions that each one should have. We also talked about using show and hide invoice line items to help him customize his invoices.
• Emails, phone calls, and setting up second interviews with interns.
• Recording notes in my notebook. Expanded the sketch of the choose your flavors, pick your tools, skin your engine, and build your world graphic idea. See a couple pages back on 9/28/13.
• On the phone with one of the interviewees extending him a position to be an adilas assistant web developer intern.
• On the phone with Steve talking about updates, training, videos, interns, and funding options for custom projects. There is a lot of money around, we just need to pick it up and not leave it on the table.

AU 1806 Daily Tasks 10/2/2013   • Prep for interviews and non-compete and non-disclosure agreements for the two interns.
• Went into town to meet with one of the interns at Bridgerland. We met, signed agreements, and I set him up with an adilas account. We made an invoice and did some light training. He was put on assignment to spend 10 hours on adilas and 10 hours on ColdFusion and getting to know what he will be working in. Good meeting. 30 miles.
• Went over to my brother’s house to review commercials and progress. We talked about his adilas engine drawings and his system overview commercial. We talked about design and other requirements. I authorized an additional $500 towards labor costs. We also talked about scripting out words and terms for an adilas intro or virtual tour of system basics and navigation. Good meeting.
• Went in to meet with a banker. We talked about options for loans and how adilas doesn’t have the cash flow and collateral for a standard bank loan. We have everything else, but those two factors don’t even let us play in the normal banking world. Good meeting.
• Went up on campus to meet with one of the professors about API’s and how he uses them. We talked shop for about an hour on web architecture and design. We talked security, rest full web services, JQuery, libraries, twitter bootstrap, designing on a grid, and passing back and forth JSON objects. Fairly technical conversation. He showed me some of the things his children are doing. That was kind of fun. One of the gems of our conversation dealt with content servers and architecture for files and even moving files using a backend agent after a given time period. One of the ideas was to use simple storage devices that costs pennies and then have the application go retrieve the correct files. Basically, the net hardware was not directly accessible to an outside traffic. Normal web or application traffic would talk to the server who would go get the actual file. However, the actual files were unable to be shown unless the correct incoming path was used. This is nothing new but I had some good ideas on how to structure our upcoming content server. If we do things this way, we don’t have to store content and files in databases. We could just store files in non-accessible folder and have the system return them as needed. Along with that, we could even store different versions of the file with our own names. Then as they are needed, we could pull them back without overwriting older files. Anyway he had some good ideas.
• Went in to Smithfield to work with one of the interns at his house. We met, signed agreements, set up a new account, light training, and he billed me for his first assignments. Similar to the other intern, he is on assignment to do 10 hours of adilas exploration and 10 hours of ColdFusion exploration. Great meeting and I think he will be very solid to work with.

AU 1807 Daily Tasks 10/3/2013   • Uploading new YouTube videos.
• Tech support.
• Organizing expenses and invoices for interns. Made a couple of calls to interns and contacts. Also called and left a message for a couple other bankers that my dad recommended that I go see.
• Went in to town to get some files from one of the interns and ended up talking with 3 different bankers. I spent half an hour to 45 minutes with each banker. I spoke with one of the bankers, a good friend; I then went and talked to the other two bankers. I got tons of good information and each one had similar things to say. It all came down to the fact that adilas is considered software and somewhat of an intangible asset. Even though we have a great product and tons of potential, the banks are required to meet certain requirements in cash flow (capital), collateral, credit score, and character (type of person and/or business). All in all, I had a three hour schooling on the ins and outs of banking and lending. Great information and I really enjoyed it. I was super glad that all three bankers were very nice and listened to my story, needs, wants, and ideas. They each gave me a bunch of feedback and I really appreciate the info. Great use of a day. Good stuff.
• Sat down with my wife and discussed what I had learned and what options we have to play with. She doesn’t like to talk about debt or borrowing very much, I can understand that.
• Created the October training flyer and posted things online.

AU 1809 Daily Ideas 10/3/2013   -Idea from my dad… Sell the bank on how we can help small and medium businesses with our software and web application tools.
-On elements of time - Be able to duplicate an element of time on a calendar type interface. Use settings and check boxes. Show a month at a time. Be able to advance months as needed. For example: (Sketch – showing ability to select all for each day, Sun-Sat, going down that column; also able to select the whole week going across) Use a calendar and check boxes to duplicate an element of time.

AU 1834 Daily Ideas 10/5/2013   -There will be time… Last chapter of “The Goose Girl” by Shannon Hale. Instead of the story going straight to happy ever after, the story ends by saying, there will be time to do this, fix that, etc. I love the idea that the story will keep going and unfolding. There will be time…. As I was saying, I love the fact that everything doesn’t have to be all done in order to have a happy ending. Get things going in a good direction and then plan on putting forth additional effort to fix other things that may not be perfect yet. Sometimes we want everything all wrapped up tight and in control. Other times it is nice to know that there will still be time for this and that and whatever. Knowing that there will still be time actually adds an element of peace. Sometime, that little hint of peace is all we need.

AU 1812 Daily Tasks 10/7/2013   • Add in old expense/receipts and adilas bills.
• Email to Steve about banks and investors.
• Printed out some new business cards.
• Sent out emails to intern candidates that did not make the first hiring cut.
• Brainstorming on a project tick list.

We set up computers and got going. We covered basic variables, URL scope variables, FORM scope variables, and basic cfoutput and validation. It was a good intro class. 30 miles.
• On the phone with Steve. We were talking about marketing and how to get our product out there. We talked about custom code projects, interns, and industry specific needs. We also talked about selling parts and pieces of our product, like eCommerce, just the CRM stuff, just scheduling , etc. Lots of options. In a way, we have created our own market; we just need to figure out how to market that. We also talked about funding sources such as loans, contracts, and investors. Mostly just ideas but chewing on a couple of different ideas.
• Reviewing elements of time from April 2013 forward. Light prep for meeting with a potential investor. Lots of good stuff.

AU 1813 Daily Tasks 10/8/2013   • Playing with ideas for securing images in non-accessible folders. Light testing.
• On the phone with an intern doing a GoToMeeting session. We did a light intro to elements of time and what he will be working on. We talked about source control and sharing files. I also tried to share the vision of what we want from elements of time. It, element of time, is somewhat a precursor to what we want to do with the rest of the system. Meaning point and click interface for building master templates. Bolt-on functionality options (subs or functions), and multiple views such as calendar, time slot, groups, and details. Anyway, good stuff.
• Prepping files for an intern to work on elements of time. Posted a bunch of files online on an FTP server.
• A contact came over and we talked about adilas for a couple of hours. I explained some of the new visions, options, and different things that are going on. Our last meeting was back in early April of this year. We have come a long way since that meeting. Most of the progress has been figuring out what our model is and heading toward an eBusiness model with self-help and custom wire jobs. We’ve created new flyers, added video help, and even added a few new wire jobs along the way. We have the first round of eCommerce up and online. We have also started toward promoting adilas world. We’ve added content videos to adilasuniversity, and done hours and hours of training sessions. Good things are happening. He and I talked about funding, vision, and potential. We also talked about a business plan, pro-formas, and seeking investors. Lots of chat back and forth about what is still needed. I’m very grateful for his help, tutoring, and listening ear.
• Went in to town to help a guy who’s been joining our training sessions with his installation of his ColdFusion test server. Light ColdFusion training with he and some others there at Bridgerland. 30 miles.

AU 1814 Daily Tasks 10/9/2013   • Reading emails and reviewing resumes.
• Tech support on big images and scans uploaded to the server.
• Recording hours into notebooks.
• On the phone and on GoToMeeting with an intern. We went over the API documentation project. For training, we ended up going over an entire ColdFusion page of code and popping in and out of different pages to figure out what and where things come from or go too based on the task at hand. Great session and I think that he is really got some good info out of it.

AU 1815 Daily Tasks 10/10/2013   • Went in to Bridgerland to work with the adilas interns on a new photo gallery for elements of time. We started out with goals, working on paper, and then into code. An intern, myself and a guy joining our class were there to begin with. The other intern joined us after lunch. Great session and we had fun getting in to the code and making it work. We played in databases, ColdFusion, and online in the Browser. By the end of the class, we decided we wanted to do it again tomorrow. Part way through the class a guy came by to meet with me. He is a consultant/sales guy here in Logan area. We met and talked about options for becoming an adilas sales rep and independent consultant. He’s got good potential. 30 miles.
• Met with another guy. He is a high end consultant and process improvement guy. We had a great talk and I pulled out some gems from our conversation. He has been around the block a number of times and has seen different companies work on refining processes. We talked Lean, Root Cause Analysis, Operations, Brick Walls, and Value Stream analysis. Great meeting. See other notes for more info.
• Went to Smithfield to work with my brother and his girlfriend. Go 9 or 10 new videos from my brother.
• Answering emails and tech support.
• Reviewing new videos, uploading videos to YouTube, and more emails to Steve.

AU 1836 Daily Ideas 10/10/2013   -Use Bridgerland (BATC) as a source of interested people. Do live classes every day and work on real projects. Both learning and doing at the same time.
-Think of the perpetual education fund and training for new jobs and skills. Feed the system through education.
-If we give away training… we could potentially help staff our short comings. Lots of new jobs through training and education.
Notes that I wrote on the back of a gentleman’s resume that I met with. He is the high end consultant and process improvement guy that I had a meeting with on 10/10/13.
-“Don’t lose the entrepreneurial spirit.” That is a gem! Dream it up and go get it! Keep that entrepreneurial spirit!
-Sometimes we may be missing a huge key piece of the puzzle. Often it is good to get all key players together and brainstorm. If the planning is only done by one, then it may be uneven or one-sided. Play as a team.
-Maybe a huge piece that we are missing is the custom code work and consulting sections. We are allowing tons of outside reps and consultants to make lots of money supporting and selling our product. We may need our own internal teams so that we could capitalize on those pieces. Adilas creates tons of profitable byproducts. Maybe just scoop those up and harvest the profitable byproducts that get created naturally.
-Every company has both inputs and outputs. What are our inputs and outputs?
-Where are our needs? How can we solve those needs?
-What are our client needs? How can we solve those needs?
-Keep building toward the dream. Spend time on where it needs to go.
-Keep doing good and keep serving. Sometimes service pays more than hard money. He told us a story about a lady he met on his mission to England years ago. The lady recently contacted him after 40+ years. She and her family had been praying for he and his companion all of these years. She had never joined the church but had kept them in her prayers. Finally, her granddaughter asker her grandma, who are these guys that you keep praying for? The grandma told the granddaughter that they were LDS missionaries that had taught them about Jesus and the gospel years ago. The granddaughter asked the grandma, do you still keep in contact with these people? The grandma said she hadn’t heard from them for over 40 years. The granddaughter asked if she could look them up online. She, the granddaughter, contacted him just a couple weeks ago and they met up while the grandma was here in the states on a vacation. Here’s the kicker… the reason the grandma kept including these Elders in her prayers was due to an act of service while the Elders were teaching her about the gospel. While teaching her, they taught her about the Lord’s law of health called the Word of Wisdom. The grandma was a smoker and the Elders taught her that the Lord’s law of health frowned on smoking and use of tobacco. Anyway, at one of the visits, the Elders (he and his companion) saw a new pack of cigarettes that the grandma had purchased. They asked her about it and she said that was her last pack and she was going to quit after that. Then he offered to buy the cigarettes and said – “Nah! I think you already had your last pack. How about if I buy them from you and you stop, starting form the last one you smoked.” Long story made short, the grandma was so impressed that a young missionary would use their small amount of money to help her quite smoking that she prayed for he and his companion for over 40 years. The missionaries were transferred out of the area and lost contact with the lady. It wasn’t until just a couple weeks ago that the contact was re-established. Awesome story and even more fun to hear it right from the guy who it happened to. Pretty cool! What is the effect of service? We may never know.
-Going back to the pieces that adilas may be mission… There are tons of jobs and tons of projects. Let’s reach out and gather or harvest some of those pieces. We want to use other people’s money to help fun those projects.
-We need one of more internal teams that could do sales, consulting, setup, and custom implementation. That may be the next phase of growth.
-On a different note, we really need to help map out the system. A virtual adilas “you are here” or a flow chart of what goes on. We need an adilas GPS system of sorts.

AU 1816 Daily Tasks 10/11/2013   • Emails and light tech support.
• Went in to BATC to work with the interns. We worked on the photo gallery for elements of time. One guy was there at BATC with me and one of the interns was on the GoToMeeting session. We got interrupted by a giant water leak. Both the guy and I helped with the clean-up. 30 miles.
• After lunch we went over to the west BATC campus. We found an empty classroom and worked more on the photo gallery for elements of time. We made some great progress and got it almost ¾ of the way done. One intern was on GoToMeeting with us.
• Worked with this guy to install MySQL server.
• Emails.

AU 1817 Daily Tasks 10/12/2013   • Light budgeting for Interns and helpers.
• Reviewing adilas training videos.
• Paying bills and adding in old expense/receipts.
• Prep and research for budget stuff. Looked up total sales, client count per year, sales per year, etc. Really fun. This month, adilas hit the half million mark for sales since mid-2008. It took us five years to make half a million. I wonder where we will be in five more years?
• On the phone with Steve talking about goals, projects, and the future of adilas. We talked about using interns and forming internal teams for sales, setup, training, and custom code. We even talked about using employees. The word employee has been somewhat taboo up until now.

AU 1818 Daily Tasks 10/14/2013   • Burning a back-up DVD of files and recording hours.
• Recording hours and sending emails out about this week’s ColdFusion training course. Sent messages to the interns, other contacts and Steve. Trying to slowly create an internal adilas team of sorts. Once we create a team, we should be able to start harvesting many of the profitable byproducts that adilas create naturally.
• On the phone with Steve going over budgets, interns, projects, and forecasting. Good stuff!
• After getting off the phone with Steve, I started working on an adilas pricing matrix. This deals with the number of users/employees per location, number of invoices, stock/units, eCommerce, payroll, and other services that are needed. Basically, it is a simple one page worksheet that helps get the ball rolling. It’s not perfect yet, but a good start.
• Went in to town to start day one of five for some adilas intern training. Our goal was to go start to finish on what we were calling the adilas YouTube video project. The goal was to create some new tools to help categorize and catalog the hundreds of YouTube training videos that we have. As the day went on, the subject kept expanding from just YouTube to general training to categories files, media, content, etc. Interesting progression. We wrote down our goals, talked, brainstormed, and did some planning. One intern did a great job and helped with the planning session. By the end of the day, we had a rough sketch of the database and tables we wanted to use. Great session. 30 miles.
• Cleaning up, rendering videos, and emails.
• Met up with some contacts that my mom and dad had set up. He is a small business consultant and entrepreneur and his wife works at Bridgerland, great meeting. We swapped stories and background and then talked adilas concepts for quite a while. They both had good questions and I even ended up writing and drawing out analogies on the white board. Great conversation and meeting. They would like a demo in a couple of weeks.
• Emails and making a few tweaks to the adilas pricing matrix.

AU 1838 Daily Ideas 10/14/2013   -Alignment – I have enjoyed studying this subject and what that brings to the puzzle. I’ve studied alignment in snowboarding, prayer, computer stuff, wrestling, climbing, and other gospel topics. Aligning ourselves for various new options.
-On adilas, we need to fix the links that have IP addresses on them. The external site that we used is no longer online. We have links to IP addresses on login history pages and timecards.

AU 1819 Daily Tasks 10/15/2013   • Working on the Texas 130-U PDF document. The form has over 130+ files on one page. Pretty intense.
• On the phone with clients who have requested custom projects. The projects deal with emailing invoices and customer record merging. See notes on other pages for more details.
• Prep work for ColdFusion class. Made a few new tables for the YouTube (media/content management system) project.
• Went into BATC for day two of the ColdFusion class for the interns. We did a review, checked databases, brainstormed on flow, permissions, functionality, use cases, page layout, and created the ColdFusion data source between the new database and the ColdFusion server. Great session.
• Uploading files for an intern from the class.
• Working on the Texas 130-U PDF document. Changing the sort order and testing the form layout.

AU 1839 Daily Ideas 10/15/2013   -Notes on custom projects. Email invoices and merge customer records.
-During cart checkout, add a checkbox option to send an email or not.
-Also add an after the fact email option from the invoice or printable invoice page.
-Define a distribution list of who get the email notifications.
-Better to offer the invoice as a gesture vs. hiding it.
-When sending the email, include a link that will virtually login the user/customer in to the adilas eCommerce section so that they may continue to shop and/or view their online history and activity.
-On emailing invoices… I see 3 different levels:
1. Send email as a PDF attachment.
2. Send email as the HTML version of the invoice, in-line.
3. Send a basic email with a link back to the eCommerce section and customer pay portal part of adilas. Leaning toward this option.

AU 1820 Daily Tasks 10/16/2013   • Recording notes from loose pages.
• Brainstorming on a new visual way to show flow inside of adilas. It is a cross between a target and a web or spider’s web. It deals with space and organization of data. (See sketches from scans in photo gallery 10/16/13)
• Working on the adilas GPS (Global Positioning System) graphic. The sketch on the other page is kind of like a GPS and could be used to show where date is located. A virtual “where am I at” or “where is your data at” type interface. I spent some time on the computer taking the idea to the next level. Very fun! I could totally see this as an interactive touch screen app.
• Went in to town for day three of the adilas ColdFusion class. We worked on making a basic template, created and setup the Application.cfm page, and created an error handling page. Great session. As part of the session I showed the interns the new GPS graphic that I was working on. I also showed my dad and we had a good talk about how we could improve it. He had lots of good ideas about way to make it look cool and be interactive.
• Working on the Texas 130-U PDF document. Working on the adilas GPS graphic.

AU 1840 Daily Ideas 10/16/2013   -Target, web – mix together to get ---
(Sketches in notebook, see scans in photo gallery for 10/16/13)
Each section is one of the main system groups or sections. In world building we use the following analogies…..
- Human World ----- Adilas World
- Universe Level – Different worlds or different companies inside the system
- World Level – Imagine a single company or core shot of a virtual world
- Location Level – Imagine the above model stacked or with multiple layers
- Group Level – The groups are each full section from the center hub out in a triangle shape
- Individual Level – The individual level deals with the outer ring or where the data is stored
- Data Level – The data layer is an analogy of a play with cups or buckets on it. As data is added, it gets tied to the main and entered into a cup and/or bucket.
- Run all levels over “time” – Create the business data assembly line with checkpoints and permissions.

• Sketching out more ideas for the adilas GPS graphic. I want to add world building concepts and create a comparison between the human world and the adilas world.
• Working on the Texas 130-U document. Ran into a ColdFusion and Adobe font issue. Light research online.
• Went into BATC for day four of the adilas intern ColdFusion class. We did a light review, played with Flash interfaces, and started into ColdFusion. We made a bunch of hyperlinks and copied our basic template page. We did a little bit of cfif and conditional logic. Pretty good work session day. At the end of class I helped one guy with a mini project passing URL variables. He did well.
• Working on the Texas 130-U document. Emails and a light touch-up on the adilas pricing matrix. Sent a copy of the pricing matrix to Steve.

AU 1841 Daily Ideas 10/17/2013   -Quote from a Bridgerland associate, “sneaker net” (shoes) – Running around manually, moving files around or doing things. Manually moving things from place to place, old school style.
-“Hypertext” – This was the original heart of the internet. This is the ability to link, jump, and pass data from page to page. This note came from a discussion with one of our graphic contractors during the ColdFusion class.

AU 1842 Daily Ideas 10/18/2013   -On the adilas GPS graphic… Put the world building concepts first, then the adilas counterparts, then the GPS interface. Idea by my dad.
• Human world building analogy on the left
• Next verbage for the different levels
• Next the adilas world counter parts to the human world building concepts
• Next the adilas GPS interface model
-On the content management system…. Harness the power of referencing a path to local files, remote access files (reference the URL), internal network files, or physical files that get uploaded to the servers.
-Just an idea for the content management system… what if we could help a user upload their files to an outside storage system. Say: Google drive, Microsoft Sky drive, drop box, Adobe Creative Cloud, YouTube, Photo Bucket, Facebook, etc.? Basically, from adilas to something else. Then hold and store a reference or hyper link to that file or folder or directory structure. In a way use adilas to create a link in table of contents and reference library. We don’t have to store all the files… we may just need to allow for flexibility and then help people organize their stuff wherever it is located – whether it is local, remote, network, or physically on an adilas server.
-Use the power of a hyper link to reference data wherever it is stored. They, hyperlinks, help the user jump right to the source.

AU 1825 Daily Tasks 10/22/2013   • In Denver for day one of an adilas training course. We had 12-15 persons in the class and 6-8 online. Great interactions and wonderful comments from the different people. We started out in the morning talking different interfaces and options. We then talked about the quick search and what that allows. We then did some PO’s and inventory items. We covered settings, permissions, and planning things and on paper.
• After lunch we did a class activity and allowed other persons to help add inventory items to help feed the system. We ended up doing an internal build PO which then lead to making recipes and builds. Fun flow and good questions. We did some small things on sales and had fun playing with buttons, recipes, and basic searches. Great class and I think that the people had fun.
• Emails.

AU 2139 Adilas 3 Day Training Notes - Denver 10/22/2013   Denver - October Training – October 22-24th
Day 1: Oct. 22
***Fix It: or an item found in training that you may want to check: when we switched elements of time to the weekly view, it still had only the (next month), (last month), etc. buttons... if they switch to weekly etc., do you want the buttons to switch to (next week, last week, etc.) May also be nice to keep the month buttons as well???
-Transitional invoice - between a quote and an invoice.... you need to track things but it is not ready to be counted as revenue yet...
****A consultant is SO powerful.... because you can get in and are able to see what people need and help them solve their pains.... you can show them an incredible product... but when you help them solve their pains or help them accomplish the purposes they have... that is what will matter to them... in so many ways it doesn't even matter if this is the coolest application in the world, it has to sink in and be relevant for them... at some point they have to catch that vision... Adilas is an incredible application - consultants (and maybe some training features) could be super powerful for understanding needs and layouts and how it could be most helpful to achieve our purpose...
***Idea/Already added to the tick list: A way to remind you when your usage gets to a certain point and you want to be notified... etc.
-Ma's business: a lot of Internal Build PO's.... and when pulling inventory, from your inventory... it needs to be a negative quantity so that it can track it from your inventory... the sum of what you robbed from your inventory add up to your final product... the outcome on the PO that all of these items together created should equal $0.00. No physical monies changed hands, this is just an inventory tracking tool.... (can be very powerfully combined with the build and hold recipes if you are doing the same thing over and over and over)
-Multiple ways to track things in adilas... that is why it is so important to plan it out... see what is needed, or would be most beneficial for your industry...
-I love how it tracks usage as well... how you can see where everything came in on... where everything went out on... great stuff!
-Refund: create a new invoice and return that item... put in a negative quantity...
*Adilas is SO incredibly customizable, which is an incredible asset... but that is almost like a 2-edged sword, because a lot of people don't know where to jump, or how to accomplish their goals and purposes... training & a knowledgeable client base - SO important.
*Work through customer's pains... as they are prioritized... start with the worst pain - help solve that and then move to the next pain...

AU 1826 Daily Tasks 10/23/2013   • Working on eCommerce settings and payment options.
• In Denver for day two of the training course. We covered customers, statements, logs, elements of time, flex grid tie-ins, and eCommerce. Good stuff. We also used a spreadsheet to introduce the flex grid. I thought that worked well. We also played with the profit and discount calculator and playing with numbers. We did a small demo on job costing using an inactive account’s data and using internal invoicing to stock/units. Great session.

AU 2140 Adilas 3 Day Training Notes - Denver 10/23/2013   Day 2: Oct. 23
***IDEA: from Roxanne - when you are in a deposit and you attach your invoices to the deposit... sometimes when going through you forget that you are only looking through the cash, so now you have tons on your deposit but you didn't want all of those other invoices, just cash (say), so now it makes it a pain to take them off... because when you have to remove any... you have to remove each one individually... can there be a link to empty out everything from the entire deposit..... that way you don't have to void... there would be a link within the deposit itself to clear the deposit so you can add back what you need... it is a pain to take them off one at a time... because each time it requires you to verify that you want to remove "this invoice" from the deposit... so basically, a link on the physical deposit to clear the entire deposit... or to be able to remove multiple or in bulk....
-Job Costing????
-One neat feature of adilas - enter once and it is there... no multiple entries into multiple systems... I have known this the whole time but David made a great comment about this that was great.
-Right now, out of the box, adilas can solve probably 80+% of any business’s needs.... pretty amazing!
-Systems thinking: We all work within systems... we are all familiar with systems that we work with or work within....
????-If you have a lot of these companies in Colorado that are trying to make this pretty dramatic change in January.... will you need to speed up the API option for industries... where does it fall on the tick list????
*I love seeing people come alive and get excited about their life and good things they have going or things special to them that they like to share with others.
***Again with Master Time Templates... putting in a color legend... currently planned to go on the add/edit template page... or also on the top of the calendar was suggested... then you can see it right there every time... with people's own custom legend, colors, titles, templates....
-Round 2 Elements of Time - to the dispatch level, following multiple crews on multiple jobs with varying times... all within a day... or whatever... dispatching level to time
*The content server is going to be super fantastic!!!! So much incredible functionality! Whoa! Good stuff! --- Cool - 3 different levels, on their local drive, adilas holds it, and linking to an outside source (YouTube, cloud interfaces, etc., etc., etc.)

AU 1827 Daily Tasks 10/24/2013   • In Denver for day three of the October adilas training event. We had quite a few people there and we spent all day talking about backend office functions and how operations helps to lead the accounting. One of our reps/consultants came and was a guest teacher for both the morning and the afternoon. She went over deposits, expenses, banks, etc. We spend some good time talking theory, concepts, objects and data over time, and relating things back to the plate and cup analogy for storing data. Basically, what bucket did you put your stuff in? We also used Shari to talk about light payroll, timecards, and HR (human resources) stuff. Great comments and participation. Awesome session!

AU 2141 Adilas 3 Day Training Notes - Denver 10/24/2013   Day 3: Oct. 24
-Think of adilas like a game... cause & effect, cause & effect...
-P&L - runs over time; B.S. - snapshot in time; main players on the P&L - Revenue, COGS, Expenses
-Revenue: more so what you are going to be taxed on... from Mick - the transfer of goods or services at a price.... so invoices (an investment would go on the balance sheet but it would not be inputted on the P&L
-Henry Ford and the assembly line --- adilas ---- Adilas - a new tradition.
-Adilas - so user friendly, so accessible --- and the connectivity is INVALUABLE!
-Peachtree, QuickBooks. (Traditional accounting systems) are numeric or alpha-numeric systems.... whereas adilas is more an alpha system... much easier for the user. Also a traditional accounting system is a T-account or flat... whereas adilas is a multi-dimensional, mobile system... also units of measurement already built in to the system... incredibly enjoyable
-Paul said this a cool way... with all of these worlds are stories so often they invite us into their world or for the story we experience things in "their" world, come into my world. But with adilas, it is... "What is YOUR world?"... Because we are here to help you create your world. How do you want to play? How can we help to build your world and help it to function?
-System Assets: think monies you are bringing in, monies in; System Liabilities: monies, monies going out
-Reiterate some of the small things when setting up... because often people get overwhelmed just b/c it's all new and you forget how and where or for instance things coming in... all need to come in on a PO for example...
-Funny, but true, Roxanne says anyone that has done shopping online can do sales in adilas.... they might need some training and guidance for other functionality like adding in inventory, or doing accounting... but for sales, it is very logical and user friendly
*The edit ability of adilas is a huge asset or benefit of using the system!
***Whatever you do outside of the system... do inside the system!
-With verifying deposits and expenses... if they have been verified but they are wrong, you can back it up and actually un-verify it, then you can add/remove items... then you can go back and get things correct and you can verify it... a good way to back up if you made that mistake....
-Check your homepages so that you can see what you've been doing... sometimes people add so fast or use the back button and end up adding a whole bunch... so it is good to monitor and care for things.... Best practice: add things only once... then edit, edit, edit, whatever you need.... if you tried to add it, you might just need to search for it or figure out where to find it.
-Verifying things... is such a great way to basically check done... to say yes, this is correct; I authorize that to move forward...... (On a PO, the specific verify date is not as important as the Expenses and Deposit verify dates... that is very important on those last ones)
***Idea/want to have: the ability to divide payments on expenses... or on paying off PO's with partial payments (divide payments like applying payments for our customers)
-Creating actual objects allows for multi-dimensional relationships... it simulates and/or tracks what really happens in the world... with time, relationships, story, etc.
*Don't be afraid to start playing... even just start with what you can start with... you can circle back around and edit if needs be, or teach the next step at the next time, etc.
***IDEA: from Uri, asking if we had thought about QR codes/swift codes for sending direct transfers, especially for those that are sending huge amounts of money to people
***IDEA: Quick exports to Excel... any page, any data... again from Uri
-You are able to pull all sorts of data and reports from adilas... but you do have to know where to find it....
-adilas and others will sometimes trick out the system just a bit & put in a $0 expense to track their monthly bank statements.... so that they can have a holding place, attached to their vendor and then upload all the photos for their bank statement... so that they can document that along the way as well
****IDEA: a box on expenses that you can say how much you would like to pay, as noted earlier... that way it can help you calculate and do the math...
-Splits allow for partial payments... but reimbursements do not allow for partials... so if you have a unique situation, you may need to play accordingly
-I personally need to have a better understanding of items like equity, capital, user-maintained balance sheet items (the running, assigned, etc. what are the differences in those options, what does it mean?), (Learn what feeds automatically and what needs to be manually entered... and what situations), P&L statements, payroll, payroll taxes --- really just how a lot of the accounting works.... liabilities - loans, company distributions, assets... (So many places to get to this information... many great resources for understanding these processes... Shari had specifically been talking about payroll)
-Other content bucket: local - is it on my C drive, F, my docs, etc., etc., etc. Remote - your YouTube account, google drive, sky drive, etc., etc. for both of these no costs just referencing to these files. Physical: pushed up to adilas servers and retrievable from adilas servers... that one they will have to charge for because of the space and potential file size.... but this is going to be SO neat! Really, the possibilities are SO immense. What kind of content do you use, what do you want?!

AU 1844 Daily Ideas 10/28/2013   -“Adilas Diversity” – There is strength in diversity. This was a quote from my dad while on a walk this morning.
-We had a request to tie a customer address right to Google maps or have some way to auto connect through a hyperlink.
-The deeper we get, the more people want to reverse look-up different pieces of the puzzle. Basically, we create a relationship from one thing to another. We then show that relationship. What we are finding is that people want to see the reflexive side of that same relationship. Basically, if a relationship exists they want to go back or forward to follow the relationship. IN a nutshell, they want a roll call page of what is connected to what and can I get there from piece to piece quickly. Very interesting!
-Along those same lines – reflexive back and forth compatibility, I was talking to my brother and he wanted to be able to link to a media/content piece (file) and then also have the ability to go from an item to a file and also from a file to an item. Both or any direction(s).

AU 1832 Daily Tasks 10/30/2013   • Calling and checking on credit card accounts. Moving money around.
• Phone calls, emails, tech support, and reviewing graphics. Got some new graphics from a lady for the adilas formula flyer. This graphic has concepts that were brainstormed from back on 9/28/13 and deals with: Choose your flavor, Pick your tools, Skin your engine, and Build your world! Basically; Dream it up, we’ll wire it up!
• Went in to Bridgerland to work with the interns on the media/content project. My computer wasn’t working that good at first. An intern was able to show us his work and helped everyone get up to speed. After that, we started working and planning out the main add form for the media content stuff. Lots of planning and prep work. As part of the planning I had the interns grab paper and we drew out a light map of what the form needed to look like. We then prepped the form. We will wire it up tomorrow. Good session. 30 miles.
• Our teacher contact came over to talk about the teacher/student interface and doing exports to Excel. We decided that just looking at the data and filing out the pieces by hand would be the best solution. We did some light training and I showed her some ways to search her data.

AU 1846 Daily Ideas 10/30/2013   -On the media, content, and files… I could see a possible need to add that as a new system player or group. The reason that I say that is, one document or file may need to be connected with different system players. Media or content may need to be part of the flex grid. This is just an idea, but media/content may end up being a bigger player.
-My son was singing a song about problem solving and math. In essence, it was saying break big things into smaller parts that you know. “Break it apart! Break it apart! Break it apart! Break it into smaller pieces that you know!” The tune was to an old Kit-Kat candy bar jingle. Good lesson.
