Notes:
• Prep for interviews and non-compete and non-disclosure agreements for the two interns.
• Went into town to meet with one of the interns at Bridgerland. We met, signed agreements, and I set him up with an adilas account. We made an invoice and did some light training. He was put on assignment to spend 10 hours on adilas and 10 hours on ColdFusion and getting to know what he will be working in. Good meeting. 30 miles.
• Went over to my brother’s house to review commercials and progress. We talked about his adilas engine drawings and his system overview commercial. We talked about design and other requirements. I authorized an additional $500 towards labor costs. We also talked about scripting out words and terms for an adilas intro or virtual tour of system basics and navigation. Good meeting.
• Went in to meet with a banker. We talked about options for loans and how adilas doesn’t have the cash flow and collateral for a standard bank loan. We have everything else, but those two factors don’t even let us play in the normal banking world. Good meeting.
• Went up on campus to meet with one of the professors about API’s and how he uses them. We talked shop for about an hour on web architecture and design. We talked security, rest full web services, JQuery, libraries, twitter bootstrap, designing on a grid, and passing back and forth JSON objects. Fairly technical conversation. He showed me some of the things his children are doing. That was kind of fun. One of the gems of our conversation dealt with content servers and architecture for files and even moving files using a backend agent after a given time period. One of the ideas was to use simple storage devices that costs pennies and then have the application go retrieve the correct files. Basically, the net hardware was not directly accessible to an outside traffic. Normal web or application traffic would talk to the server who would go get the actual file. However, the actual files were unable to be shown unless the correct incoming path was used. This is nothing new but I had some good ideas on how to structure our upcoming content server. If we do things this way, we don’t have to store content and files in databases. We could just store files in non-accessible folder and have the system return them as needed. Along with that, we could even store different versions of the file with our own names. Then as they are needed, we could pull them back without overwriting older files. Anyway he had some good ideas.
• Went in to Smithfield to work with one of the interns at his house. We met, signed agreements, set up a new account, light training, and he billed me for his first assignments. Similar to the other intern, he is on assignment to do 10 hours of adilas exploration and 10 hours of ColdFusion exploration. Great meeting and I think he will be very solid to work with.
