Notes:
-Use Bridgerland (BATC) as a source of interested people. Do live classes every day and work on real projects. Both learning and doing at the same time.
-Think of the perpetual education fund and training for new jobs and skills. Feed the system through education.
-If we give away training… we could potentially help staff our short comings. Lots of new jobs through training and education.
Notes that I wrote on the back of a gentleman’s resume that I met with. He is the high end consultant and process improvement guy that I had a meeting with on 10/10/13.
-“Don’t lose the entrepreneurial spirit.” That is a gem! Dream it up and go get it! Keep that entrepreneurial spirit!
-Sometimes we may be missing a huge key piece of the puzzle. Often it is good to get all key players together and brainstorm. If the planning is only done by one, then it may be uneven or one-sided. Play as a team.
-Maybe a huge piece that we are missing is the custom code work and consulting sections. We are allowing tons of outside reps and consultants to make lots of money supporting and selling our product. We may need our own internal teams so that we could capitalize on those pieces. Adilas creates tons of profitable byproducts. Maybe just scoop those up and harvest the profitable byproducts that get created naturally.
-Every company has both inputs and outputs. What are our inputs and outputs?
-Where are our needs? How can we solve those needs?
-What are our client needs? How can we solve those needs?
-Keep building toward the dream. Spend time on where it needs to go.
-Keep doing good and keep serving. Sometimes service pays more than hard money. He told us a story about a lady he met on his mission to England years ago. The lady recently contacted him after 40+ years. She and her family had been praying for he and his companion all of these years. She had never joined the church but had kept them in her prayers. Finally, her granddaughter asker her grandma, who are these guys that you keep praying for? The grandma told the granddaughter that they were LDS missionaries that had taught them about Jesus and the gospel years ago. The granddaughter asked the grandma, do you still keep in contact with these people? The grandma said she hadn’t heard from them for over 40 years. The granddaughter asked if she could look them up online. She, the granddaughter, contacted him just a couple weeks ago and they met up while the grandma was here in the states on a vacation. Here’s the kicker… the reason the grandma kept including these Elders in her prayers was due to an act of service while the Elders were teaching her about the gospel. While teaching her, they taught her about the Lord’s law of health called the Word of Wisdom. The grandma was a smoker and the Elders taught her that the Lord’s law of health frowned on smoking and use of tobacco. Anyway, at one of the visits, the Elders (he and his companion) saw a new pack of cigarettes that the grandma had purchased. They asked her about it and she said that was her last pack and she was going to quit after that. Then he offered to buy the cigarettes and said – “Nah! I think you already had your last pack. How about if I buy them from you and you stop, starting form the last one you smoked.” Long story made short, the grandma was so impressed that a young missionary would use their small amount of money to help her quite smoking that she prayed for he and his companion for over 40 years. The missionaries were transferred out of the area and lost contact with the lady. It wasn’t until just a couple weeks ago that the contact was re-established. Awesome story and even more fun to hear it right from the guy who it happened to. Pretty cool! What is the effect of service? We may never know.
-Going back to the pieces that adilas may be mission… There are tons of jobs and tons of projects. Let’s reach out and gather or harvest some of those pieces. We want to use other people’s money to help fun those projects.
-We need one of more internal teams that could do sales, consulting, setup, and custom implementation. That may be the next phase of growth.
-On a different note, we really need to help map out the system. A virtual adilas “you are here” or a flow chart of what goes on. We need an adilas GPS system of sorts.
