AU 2779 July 2014 Monthly Recap 7/1/2014   This month we finished up and released the first round of the media/content server! This project started in 2011 and has been 3 years in the making. We are excited to release this powerful tool for all users! With the release of the media/content server we determined to label the current state of adilas as Version 9.0.

Many hours of work have gone into the media/content project. The majority of the work on media/content this month consisted of finishing wiring media/content for correct flow and processing, creating necessary links, cascading media/content icons through all of the 12 Main Application Players of adilas, and wrapping everything together for functionality, history, look-ups, and reporting. There will be more to come on successive rounds of the media/content piece of adilas, but for now we hope you enjoy the vast amount of features that media/content makes available!

Other projects or highlights from this month consisted of reworking some of the navigation menus on different pages in adilas. This makes for a simpler view and interface. All of the navigation links are still accessible but now in a more graphical, user-friendly layout. This month also marked the first paid adilas training event with adilas and METRC (an agency for the state of Colorado). We have been working this month on training a new intern, adding new Adobe PDF options to pages, creating a master list of all stock/units across all servers, databases, corporations, and more.

*We hope you are enjoying the adilas developer's notebook! Please utilize and explore the vast search capabilities of adilas to find more information throughout the developer's notebook. For further questions, or help, please feel free to contact us at: support@adilas.biz.

AU 2755 Daily Ideas 7/8/2014   -On statements and bulk statement creation process… We had a request to have a paid or unpaid switch to help pull up data that was unpaid, paid in full, or both. Along with that, we also had a request to add a variable from date range value (maybe use the keyword “auto”). Basically, have the system figure out how far to go back based on a look-up vs. a hardcoded date entered by a user. This would help with people who have net 30, net 60, and net 90 terms. The current way requires a user to manually select or set the from date range. Contact a client for more details.
-On stock/units – we need a master or global stock/unit table that will hold data from all stock/unit tables across all servers. This is basically just the corp id, the stock number, and the first stock field (special string used as part of a look-up for GPS data).

AU 2739 Daily Tasks 7/9/2014   • Prep for a phone call with client out of Texas.
• On a conference call with a business owner going over a quote for some custom work. We went over things line by line and had to give reasons and detailed explanations on costs and functionality. Our consultant did a wonderful job on the call. I would easily send other clients her way, no problem.
• Working on an update file for all master stock/units. This is a master list for all servers, databases, and corporations. Adding API calls, new backend methods and functions, and working on putting pieces where they need to go to keep things up to date and dynamic.
• Work on the master list for stock/units.
• On the phone with a prospective client. I did an inventory tracking demo for him. I used carts, PO’s, recipe/builds, and part's usage as a few of the selling points. He had lots of questions. Great demo. Sent him a quote for the monthly service fee.
• Emails, phone calls, and talking with the Salida developer on the phone about grids, css, and formatting code for mobile devices.
• An intern came over and we worked on some code. We reviewed loops, downloaded some database stuff, and got MySQL installed on his machine. I had him sign a non-compete and non-disclosure statement.

• Went in to Logan to meet with two web guys. One is a software guy and the other guy was a graphic designer. We had a lunch meeting and the intern and I picked their brains and they also asked us a bunch of questions. Lots of good potential to make things happen and work together. They do custom websites, eCommerce, and SEO (Search Engine Optimization).

AU 2742 Daily Tasks 7/12/2014   • A developer came over. We wrapped up a few things and just chatted. He got a part time job with a different web development company. AU 2756 Daily Ideas 7/12/2014   -Focus on one thing at a time – meaning projects. Some things need to be brought up together to create a unity. Other things need to be focused on, wrapped up, and then let go. A developer came over today and helped me see that I need to focus more on certain projects (media/content). Get them done and keep moving. Sometimes the keep moving forward part is the key.

Adi 891 Custom code for A Touch of Style out of Texas 7/16/2014   This is a multi-part project. It basically has three pieces.
1. We needed to add photos and images to the invoices and quotes. Daniel Swainston has already completed that.
2. We needed to add in-line discounts to both invoices and quotes. Brandon is currently working on that. This is a big internal project.
3. Lee, the owner, needs a custom invoice made. See the documents (media/content) for an overview.

We are waiting on the custom invoice until Brandon gets the in-line discount piece done.

The custom invoice is set at $200. This is the piece that is still available.

• Adding links and icons for media/content pieces to the quotes section.

• Launching tons of files for all of the media/content links and icons. Got all 12 main player groups wired up to show and deal with the media/content stuff. I’m within about a full day of being done with the content server. This project started back in 2011. Almost 3 years in the making. I was grateful to get it mostly done today. I’ve got two more items on my tick list for this project. Hopefully tomorrow.

AU 2760 Daily Ideas 7/25/2014   -Fix and modify the interactive map. Take off some of the prep pieces and add some other common features. Make it into a more full and ready to use interface. Add media/content, barcode generator, help files, YouTube videos, interface changer, etc.
-On the world building flyer and concepts… Play with the world analogy… Where do you live? What is your environment? What will you encounter today? Tomorrow? Next year? What tools and features will you need?
-On the flyer… use as few words as possible… make it a visual show and tell… Allow for them to drill-down or get more if they want it.
-Add additional buttons to the new media/content icons and call-out navigation pieces.
-On the GPS core and the interactive map… make the drill-downs go a little bit deeper and show an interface that shows options. Bring the users to a place that will educate and make choices easier by knowing what the options are.
-We’ve had a number of requests to be able to upload multiple documents at a time. This is for both media/content and photos.
-When showing each group or main system player group… show all of the pages and what those pages do. Help demystify how things work. Maybe even show a normal flow and cause and effects on how the items and data play together.

We talked about new changes to the media/content server and how that project is basically all done – as far as the first round. We talked about new files that would be launched and priorities on new and upcoming projects.
• Uploaded 50+ new files to each server. This deals with new buttons on edit line items pages, printable, edit main, and photo gallery stuff. This also includes new code for a visual menu on the main view cart page. This upload is what we are calling the media/content project fully done for round one. YEAH! That has been a long time coming.
• Went in to Smithfield to meet with a website creator and his designer. We talked about ways that we could work together on websites, eCommerce, CMS (Content Management Systems), and SEO (Search Engine Optimization). Good meeting. AU 2761 Daily Ideas 7/29/2014   A couple of user requests that need to be documented:
1. A mini receipt version for quotes (3” receipt printer) style.
2. A mini credit card invoice (summary) without the line items.
3. Photos on invoices and quotes. These are part number photos per line item. Currently, photos may be attached but attached to the main invoice or quote, not the line items.
4. When we add in-line discounts, we need a special bulk line item tool for the shopping cart.
5. On connecting to the content server, we need a direct connect to help upload right to adilas. Right now, they have to choose between local reference, remote reference, or physical upload. They want to short cut it right to the physical upload page. This may end up needing to be a setting.

AU 2754 Daily Tasks 7/30/2014   • Working on new images for new and upcoming features. Small planning for the visual menu on the printable quote page.
• Working on the visual icon menu for printable quotes. Currently the page has 26 links in the icon menu. Trying to get an idea about how long it takes to make a menu of this kind.
• Working on the mini quote page. This is a 3” receipt printer version for a quote vs. an invoice. More work on the visual icon menu for quotes.
• An intern came over and we started working on his mini project. We were playing with form submitting to themselves, grouped output, and dynamic filters for queries. Part way through, we got a 20 minute phone call from Steve. He was just reporting some new things from his day up in Denver. I put him on speaker phone so that Steve could share with both of us about the new developments.
• On the phone with some clients. They had a question about credit card processing from different locations and transferring bulk inventories between locations.
• More visual page icons for the icon menu for printable quotes.

AU 2762 Daily Ideas 7/30/2014   -More requests on the content server to be able to get to the physical upload quicker. Also a request to be able to control what options are allowed – settings for local, remote, and physical uploads. One click uploads, limit to upload only, etc.
-It would be nice to have a way to delete or show/hide invoice payments. Sometimes it gets kind of messy and might cause a problem.

AU 2778 Daily Tasks 7/31/2014   -Emails and planning a to-do list.

-New logos for clients.
-Emails and light tech support.
-Research on a project called “base camp” back from 4/17/14 by an adilas developer. Figuring out files, features, and version for a historical update about what version of adilas we just finished with the media/content server being completed. Going through old CD’s and DVD’s of old files trying to recreate a light history based on adilas versions and feature releases. Fun little blast back to the past.
-Going through and writing up features for different versions of adilas. Decided we just finished version 9.0. I’m planning on creating a specific flyer that states we are no on 9.0.
