AU 2780 June 2014 Monthly Recap 6/1/2014   We have had multiple developers and interns working on projects this month and some exciting new pieces were added to adilas. A new split cart feature was created and launched this month, which allows users to view and build their shopping cart while having access to their my cart favorite buttons all in the same screen view. A bulk statement creation project was completed this month, allowing users to create statements in bulk plus a variety of other statement features. Another project carried out by an intern developer is the ability to now edit shopping cart line items in bulk and the ability to auto-fill RFID tags for shopping cart line items.

Customer log notes and follow-ups can now show up on every calendar view as well as on the web (eCommerce side). The Full Circle Interactive Media API, which has been a project in progress for some time, is ready for clients to start using as a 3rd party solution. This company helps with text marketing, emailing services, and so on. More Merchant processing options continue to become available as the adilas list was updated to now include PayPal, FirstData and Mile High Merchant Group.

Another developer created a Shopper App and a new homepage for a trucking company which holds custom settings per user. These projects contribute to exciting future development as adilas will be building more and more features allowing adilas users to personalize their adilas account. Many of the projects cited here were custom projects for adilas users. Custom projects are ongoing, if you have a need contact adilas! Adilas developers are working with clients to make their business functionality dreams become a reality with their adilas.

*We hope you are enjoying the adilas developer's notebook! Please utilize and explore the vast search capabilities of adilas to find more information throughout the developer's notebook. For further questions, or help, please feel free to contact us at: support@adilas.biz.

AU 2346 Daily Tasks 6/2/2014   • Working on showing customer log notes on the elements of time homepage.
• Emails and tech support.
• On the phone with Steve. We went over our current to do list. We decided to get the content server up and online even if it is not fully wired up. We want people to use it as is. We will circle around to the other pieces as we can. We also talked tons about funding and direction. Our current plan is to shrink and play small for a couple of months. We need to shut down un-needed pieces to help conserve funds. This means outside contract labors, trainers, interns, etc. This isn’t permanent but it is a blow to our current direction and momentum. It kind of hurts the pride a little bit. We are going to try to refocus and bounce and flex as needed.
• Setup a new corporation for a client. Called and emailed them to let them know the login details.
• My sister called and I chatted with her for an hour about direction and where things are headed. We are going to have to cut her hours as well. That really hurts. She did a great job listening and gave me some great advice. She recommended that I spent some time in prayer and go to the temple. I’m going to take her up on that advice. I’ll go tomorrow morning. That’s a great place to pray and meditate. Another thing that she said was, God has helped you out every other time, He will help you out again. I needed that.
• Phone calls and emails. Setup a new email account for my sister. We are going to see if we can’t get her some training and consulting work.
• The new intern came over and we worked on some ColdFusion training. We did some review on lists, arrays, and structures. We also lightly touched on conditional logic and loops. He is picking things up.
• On the phone helping a client with a label printing issue. I couldn’t get my system to reproduce the same error that she was having. I wasn’t sure what to tell her.
• Recording notes. Today was a tough day for me.
• Posting new Q&A sessions online for the June training event.

AU 2347 Daily Tasks 6/3/2014   • Working on adding customer logs to the grouped time results on the elements of time homepage.
• On the phone with Steve. We were talking about code for the adilas world project (adilas professionals). Talked about the flex grid and also sub inventory and cost controls. Pieces are making more and more sense.
• Paying bills and recording expenses.
• Emails and spring cleaning.
• The new intern came over. We added customer logs to the calendar and time slot reports for elements of time. At this point, customer log notes and customer follow-ups can be displayed on all four report views of elements of time. After that, we jumped into a small lesson on queries and databases. Good session.

AU 2350 Daily Ideas 6/3/2014   -My wife is a blessing from the Lord! I’m so thankful for all that she does and continues to do! What a blessing! She has been there through thick and thin, good, bad, ugly, you name it. I couldn’t tell you how many times she has helped me out. A thought, a word, an ear, a hug, a date… all needed and much appreciated. She is an answer to my prayers. I went to the temple seeking an answer. My wife is the answer!
-I’ve been thinking more and more about the concept of being wrapped in time. Instead of being a base level principle that things get built on, time may work better as a wrapper. (Sketches – Time as a wrapper – pretend that time is paper or tinfoil – wrap the whole project. Please see scan in photo gallery.)
-You are not alone! There are tons of people who can and do help you!

AU 2348 Daily Tasks 6/4/2014   • Working on the opt in/out settings for marketing and direct customer contact methods. Light clean-up on the customer log notes being shown on the main element of time homepage. Added the option to view log notes and follow-up notes form the backend eCommerce logins.
• Helped a developer out with his create bulk statements project. He is getting close to having it done and it just needs a little bit more loving.
• Went in to Logan to meet with a guy and have a small interview. He is good at sales, training, and tech stuff (hardware and software). We had a great interview. He is also interested in entrepreneurial stuff. That makes it fun. He is a great guy and I’ve already done some other things with him on a personal level (hiking, climbing, and mountain biking). His dad is a local surgeon in town. 30 miles.
• Ran some database updates and posted about 20 new files online. All of the new files were dealing with new customer fields, new log fields, show/hide on the calendar and on the web settings. We also added code to finish up the Full Circle API socket stuff. That is exciting! Posted all new files online.

AU 2351 Daily Ideas 6/4/2014   -Add save as PDF links to the PO Homepage, Invoice Homepage and the Quote Homepage. Currently, all of these values are only on the printable pages for individual PO’s, invoices, and quotes. Put the new links on the homepages where we could get at that quicker and in bulk.

AU 2349 Daily Tasks 6/5/2014   • Emailing the guys at Full Circle to let them know about the changes and new code that we added for them.
• New graphic logo for a client.
• Emails, phone calls, and light tech support.
• Fixing a local printer problem and trying to print out checks for interns. The ink cartridge was clogged.
• Updating help files for new customer fields and pages.
• More work on help files.
• On the phone with Steve. I gave him a small update on new code and new pieces that were posted online. We went over some code for the adilas world project. He is making good progress there. We then went off into new and upcoming projects. We talked about the split cart, storing user timeout values, using swipers (badge readers) to help with logins, media/content tie-ins, and some creative just in time funding options. If a new client wants something custom, either bid it out or get them started and then feed that money (monthly fees) directly to the developer until the projects is paid for.
• Emails and tech support.
• On the phone with a contact talking sales and marketing plan stuff. I mentioned to him about the other guy I met with earlier. We talked about some options there.
• Recording notes, phone calls, and talking on the phone with the guy I met with earlier in the week. He called me so I gave him the number for the other contact who is helping with marketing ideas. Pretty crazy.
• Updating help files.
• Working on new buttons for my cart favorites and being able to do split screen stuff.

AU 2718 Daily Tasks 6/9/2014   • Working on new my cart favorite buttons to help with a split screen interface. The new buttons need to be able to change target or frames (different windows) vs. the normal page by page flow. Got the new buttons done and posted a number of new pages online. The split screen or split cart is pretty cool and helps make the shopping cart look and feel more like a traditional touch screen POS (Point of Sale) system. Had to add a number of new links and targets to be able to jump in and out of the split screen interface. Added a new section to the news and updates page for the split cart functionality. It feels good to get that piece done.

AU 2719 Daily Tasks 6/12/2014   • Up at Scout Camp for the week. Reviewing notes and notebooks.

AU 2720 Daily Tasks 6/16/2014   • On the phone with the developer from Salida. We were talking about RFID tags, his Shopper app, and the first stock number field for stock/units. We also talked about FTP info for sending GPS tracking files for the trucker site.
• A developer came over and we talked about his current API socket project for a client.
• Emails and tech support.
• New logos for clients.
• Reviewing code done by a developer for the bulk statement creation process.
• Working with an intern on a new page to handle bulk edits of shopping cart line items. The goal here is to work with RFID tag and populate as many things as possible. The other goal is to open up bulk edit options to help speed up the cart. This could be for quantities, prices, descriptions, RFID tags, show/hide options, and tax categories.

AU 2732 Daily Ideas 6/16/2014   -Currently RFID tags are not stored with quotes. However, we may want a function to go and look-up the RFID tag values after a quote is restored to cart. As an additional option, it may be cool to open up all RFID tag fields to allow items to be scanned and filled in bulk.
-We need to circle around and open up the code to allow the first stock field to have and hold up to 15 characters.
-Add save as PDF links for PO’s, invoices, and quotes from the sub homepages.
-Hold and store a setting for kicking a person out of the shopping cart or retail POS (Point of Sale) system. Maybe store the timeout per user.
-We had a request to be able to hide invoice payments on existing invoices. Apparently, they had a situation where a vendor was paying part of the cost and the customer was supposed to pay the remainder. The person wanted to hide the vendor portion and just show the total. The only way I could see to do that was by putting the whole thing on account, printing it out or saving it as a PDF and then applying the vendor portion. The other way of doing it, to keep the accounting right, would be to claim the other revenue from the vendor on a deposit and then let the customer pay the entire ticket. Either way, you would need to do something about the additional money and/or revenue. I guess you could also show all of the items at full price and then show the vendor payment and have the customer pay the remainder. Either way, you are playing games.

We ended up over at the table planning out and talking about relational database models. Lots of playing on paper with tables, columns, rows, scenarios, and underlying concepts. The goal was to show how databases work and how we plan and set things up in a dynamic, relational model. Good stuff!

Tell about history and heritage – It helps show direction or illustrate the story – Less process and more results – Data Journalism – Tell the Story! I love it!
