Add/Edit Sub Queues
|
This is the add/edit page for the sub queue. A sub queue is a way to categorize and/or differentiate between different types of the main customer queues. A couple of samples might be something like: different waiting rooms, different lines, express checkout vs. normal checkout, sub project queues, waiting lists for certain people, places, or things. It could be for different functionality such as drive thru, pick-up, online vs. in-store, delivery, call-back, follow-ups, etc. You get the idea.
The cool thing about the sub queues is that they allow you to create a custom name and associate a color with each sub queue. That really helps when searching and/or looking at what is available. Also, if needed, a customer may be switched between sub queues without any problem. Just edit the record and it instantly gets switched to the new sub queue. Use the form at the top of the page to both add and edit the sub queue records. You will be able to know what mode the page is in by looking at the main submit button. It will say either "add sub" or "edit sub". Once added, all sub queues will show up below the top form in a report type list. If you wish to edit a sub, click on the edit link. This will load the correct information into the top form. The lower report will show a quick overview of what each sub queue is called, what colors it uses, and the show on the web settings. If you determine to use the sub queues out in ecommerce land (web invoices, quotes, and orders outside the secured environment), you must select the show on the web checkbox. There is a spot where you can set the customer friendly name for the sub queue to show outside the secured environment as well. As a special note, there is also a corp-wide setting that allows you to globally allow for that to happen. The corp-wide setting is the master switch for show/hide on the web. The small checkbox on this page only works if the master switch is set to show/use the customer queue on the web. The last little tip is the sort value. This is a way to manually sort the sub queues. If left at the default of 100, the sub queues will be sorted by their names. If you use the sort option, it will sort by that column first and then the sub queue names. |
