Gave Todd Williams a demo on multiple different levels. We were bouncing between corps and looking at both inside (internal) and outside (ecommerce) stuff. I showed him some project management options and time tracking for projects. We also looked at some quick sales reports, ecommerce, and CSS (look and feel).

After our demo, we stepped into a side room and had a discussion about a possible business option and idea. The main goal would be to include different resources and bring people together. Basically provide a hub or place where a group of people could get together and allocate monies and/or resources to a new project, physical product, digital product, a concept, or an idea.

We talked about pulling in attorneys, CPA's, data folk, machinist, production people, sales people, marketing, designers, bankers/lenders, etc. to create a pooled environment where we could all work together. Basically, adilas would be the backend business tracking software piece and help to allocate budgets, timelines, track resources, ownership, and help in the business tracking process.

So, those who invest or allocate resources (skills, trades, time, monies, talents, ideas, etc.) would be partial owners of the new products. Basically, because a product, concept, or idea isn't much more than a plan at first, it isn't worth a ton until it starts going from water, slush, to ice. Basically, we want to create an environment where we push new ideas forward and help to build people, places, and things.

After Todd left, I batted around some ideas with Russell, Dave Forbis, and Bryan Dayton. We chatted about options to help do some of the following: These are all kinda loose and just ideas at this stage...
- Single product market and/or mall type concept
- Imagine a mini version of eBay or Amazon for different products and services
- A market place where small businesses could get together and collaborate on ideas, projects, and actual products.
- We could allow for online shopping and ecommerce through a preset venue - and adilas hub model shopping place.
- We could help with setup, data storage, data mapping, invoicing, digital payments, and moving monies around. We would own the merchant account and then re-distribute the funds to the parties involved.
- It might even be really cool to re-distribute the funds based off of percentages of ownership. This idea came from Keats Horstmann from Safe Harbor Alliance. I could see it being pretty cool. Think about almost instant re-distribution of funds.
- We would need to handle shipping, customer service, fulfillment, and other shopping related needs.
- As we allocate resources, we could track time, monies, ideas, raw goods, and other resources that get allocated to the projects and products.
- If a company ends up selling or moving on, hopefully they will have a loyalty to the adilas platform and continue using the database service.
- In a way, this project is a mix of community funded projects, the adilas world, the adilas market, the developer's notebook, and a social hub for sharing resources and such.

Anyways, some good ideas have been floating around. Todd asked me to let it simmer and add thoughts as they come up. He would like to get a small team together to see what we could come up with. I offered the adilas shop as a place to meet and do some whiteboarding on the concepts and ideas.

See the sub comments for more ideas as they come in... little mini forum of sorts.

Adilas Marketplace 1/16/2023 2:26 pm Brandon Moore

On 1/16/23 - We had part of a sales meeting devoted to the concept of the adilas marketplace. Ideas about selling both products and services, including special events, bookings, and registrations (with paperwork and release forms). See EOT # 9748 in the shop for more information.

AFB might be interested in helping 12/4/2017 1:55 pm Brandon Moore Small side note... The AFB guys (Russell and Chris) did a demo today talking with people about the new AFB quick employee time clock and the new AFB email settings. After the meeting, they talked with Calvin about setting up a mini version or mini package to help new clients get started really easily with their own ecommerce package. They were talking email blasting, text messaging, ecommerce, simple packages, etc. That might fit right along with the other ideas for this market place type concept.

If they could bring a number of smaller players together, with tons of cool and simple tools, they could do a great job and knock it out of the park. That would be my vote.
Tap into the internal power users 2/11/2016 2:31 pm Brandon Moore As a small side note, there is a ton of good information from a brainstorming session between Steve and Brandon on element of time # 581. We were talking about the potential of the adilas community and how we could get help and offer help to other users. Basically, we could turn the model inside out and let the people who play with the main features teach about the main features. Let experts teach and help others. See that element of time for more info. Lots of good notes.
Web presence 2/10/2016 7:57 am Brandon Moore We need ways to be able to push different parts of the project out to the web. This may require some new plumbing to get only the parts we want to be displayed on the web. This may include new settings on a corporation (world) level, location settings, template settings, main item settings, and sub item settings.

It might also be cool to allow outside parties to participate and help in the collaboration efforts. This could be a forum, posts, idea sharing, etc. We have section inside of the adilas interactive map called ideas and sharing. This could be a good access point for something like this.
photos, files, and other media/content peices 2/10/2016 7:53 am Brandon Moore The media/content section will be very important. This will be used for photos, progress, concepts, technical docs, drawings, brainstorming, and even more official docs such as contracts and/or agreements.
Social networks and feeds 2/10/2016 7:48 am Brandon Moore What about a community that shares and helps promote progress. Think about a mini forum, a social network, a data feed of sorts. That would be pretty cool.
Small competitions and challenges 2/10/2016 7:45 am Brandon Moore I talked with Todd about a dream of mine to hold a small competition for certain things. We could put up prize money and set rules for the competitions. We could then use adilas (elements of time, PO's, items, invoices, customers, expenses, photos, media/content) to help track the progress and show where the teams are at.

I would love to do this and I really believe that adilas is deep enough right now to track all of this stuff. We might need to work on a few things, but the bulk of the pieces are either fully done or have been planned out. Good stuff.
Easy to use market place 2/10/2016 7:42 am Brandon Moore I'm thinking about people who have a product or service but don't know how to get it up and online. I have a sister who makes quilts and handbags. I have a wife that makes pottery and ceramics. I have a mother that sells medicinal herbs. I have a brother that has wooden flutes and small sculptures. This would be a perfect place for this type of thing.
What about cross corp flex grid 2/10/2016 7:39 am Brandon Moore This is just an idea... What about using cross corp flex grid to help track where products and services come from. We could sell the item from a single spot and still be able to do a cross corp transaction to record the sales. The cross corp flex grid would tie pieces together to keep things tight and a full audit trail.
