We need to add some master time template overrides for the add and edit processes for elements of time. Currently, the developer has to look those up and pass the template settings in. It might work better if we remove them as arguments and just look them up and force them on the cfc or logic side of things. I have been having a hard time being able to teach the developer about the need to match everything up. It seems like extra work. So, maybe we'll just pull them off and force them as template overrides in the background. As a side note, the time template settings that are stored on the elements of time table were put in place to help with searching records. Basically, the thought was less joins to get the data back out of the system. That thought process has pros and cons. A pro is, we can filter the data better and quicker without a join. The con is we have to duplicate that data and there is no guarantee that the duplicated settings are really real. Anyways, just recording the ideas. |
