On the morning meeting with Steve. We spent the first 1.5 hours going over some of the craziness that either has been going on and/or is still going on. We were talking about a number of different projects. Some with us, some with the shop, some with the guys from AFB. There are some of them that are starting to run away and/or get out of control. We need to get control of who is doing what and what code and projects are being pushed. We need to put our foot down on some of these things and say no. We spent some more time talking about other ways of getting more control and slowing things down a bit. We talked more about processes, FTPing (sending files up and down), and code sign-off. We talked about security, 3rd party solutions, and API sockets (opening up windows and doors). Maybe we could put together some FTP options where they could only upload to the black box and custom folders. Similar to what Steve did back in the day when he was limited to just the custom folder through the system. It may be worth our time to change all of the FTP passwords and setup individual accounts. Then open and/or limit the accounts as needed. This could help us get some more control over things. |
