On a phone call with Calvin. We were talking about data back-up options. Calvin's client is interested in a physical back-up solution. We didn't spend a ton of time on this, but here are some rough notes. - We could create a service that is attached to adilas. - It would be billed by us and then a portion given back to Calvin. - We could permission it out. - The user could make a request. We could get an email or text number to let them know that it was ready. This would be done on the web. - In the background, Calvin's auto process tool could run the full back-up. Save the SQL files, run some encryption, and create a zip file. - We could then notify the user that the file is ready. We would also need to let them know that the file has a life span of say 24 hours. - Then when they pull down the zip file, we could use a special Calvin (de-crypter tool) tool to unzip and decrypt the SQL file. Anyways, that is just the quick and the dirty of it. We will still need to do more testing, planning, and making decisions. |
