On a GoToMeeting session with Steve and Alan. Steve was talking about using QR codes and playing a simple smoke and mirror options for scanning subs, child items, and even parent items. The gist of the conversation was dealing with we already have the wiring built out to scan ~123 and it will add that item from package 123. Piece of cake. All Steve was talking about was showing the users what they want to see and then using a super simple QR code to do the lifting. Basically, they, the users, get to see what they want. That makes them happy. We then use the QR code to store what we need and keep it really simple. All of the real data is stored on the sub and/or on the my cart favorite button. We just help them out and both parties feel like they got what they need. Just some small notes... Maybe expand this. The later half of the session was working with Alan and looking over some new code and logic that he has for the Metrc state API. We covered some of the new functions, did some testing, and looked over the other report pages. Alan was driving and I was the second set of eyes. |
