Notes:
Ideas on a skill building and skill teaching non-profit skill learning:
- Help people with a passion for a subject – teach others about that subject.
- Proved the path, technologies and steps to help them present their info and ideas.
- No limit on subjects.
- No limit on ages.
- Use other people money to fund projects.
- Scalable – size can grow.
- Use different sites as venues, classrooms, labs, camps, events, etc.
- Help other people share their knowledge.
- Facilitate and coordinate people, resources and methods.
- Come up with the “dream” and then “map to it”.
- Learn it, live it, love it, share it!
- Make a template for learning and distributing knowledge.
- Provide a team of people to help others realize their dreams and share their skills and talents.
- Use interns and professionals (in their areas) as subs for certain tasks. Maybe small focus teams.
- Teach and hold workshops on how to do basic skills for “do it yourself-ers”: business, accounting, grant writing, web, marketing, computers, distribution, taxes, forms, etc.
- Recycle code, knowledge, experience, lessons, discoveries, technology learning curves, etc.
- Help both non-profit and commercial companies and/or people. Whoever needs the help.
- Possible side arm or sister company that handles the non-profit side of things. Two companies doing the same thing but funding comes from either private pay or grants, or a combo of both depending on the project. Need to be careful about conflict of interest. It would be cool if possible.
- Our job is to create the connections and build and staff the team to get the job done.
