Notes:
-I’m thinking that seeking protection through sharing is very important. This includes sharing the power and control of the application. If something is shared, it becomes less of a controlling piece.
-Along with sharing… I’m thinking that the new universe level controls are very important. I’m also thinking that they need to be part of the main application to keep the package complete. We could always permission those pieces and hid them, but if they are built in to the application we could potentially have more options if we have to change the configuration in any way. Think permissions and settings vs. separate systems. Maybe include the code and pieces in the main application and just keep them hidden or inactive unless needed.
-As a side note, I wonder if God does the same thing with us… He builds in all the pieces and then only activates them as needed. Just a side thought.
-The more we can go permissions and settings, they better. It makes things more reusable and versatile.
-What if we used the database more to hold settings and page flow. Instead of hard coding everything (names, links, flow, validation), what if we actively used the database more to control all of the different pieces. Be open and allow for custom settings. Encourage individual adaptation and then follow up with cause and effect relationships. Help people choose their consequences by making correct choices.
-This might get tricky, but I’d love to mix freedom, agency, and choices to … be easy on the “how” and be not so easy on the “what”. Basically, allow for diversity and embrace it, but still help people get their job done.
