Notes:
• Emails and tech support stuff.
• Made an adilas certificate of completion for a guy who attended the October training session. He needed it for some continuing professional education (CPE) credits.
• Prep for the ColdFusion class. Tried a few ideas for submitting a form with specific size dimensions. Just playing.
• Went in to Bridgerland for the intern class. We had a great lesson by one of the interns on disruptive innovation vs. sustaining innovation. He got some of his ideas from a book by Clayton Christensen. Basically, a disruptive innovation is something new that alters or changes the traditional scope or flow. Because it is so different, it changes the market. Once it changes the market, other people and/or companies follow and try to do the same thing. Often the first one in (the original) gets setup as the leader. On the other hand, sustaining innovation takes an existing idea or product and improves it. This changes things over time and build on existing products and services vs. altering markets and changing or disrupting flow. Anyway, a great presentation and discussion. After that we worked on the flow for adding and uploading media and content. I gave them a flow chart of what we were trying to do and then we started into it. We ended up running into an issue that dealt with making and pulling values out of a list. It was kind of off topic but a good exercise. The group dynamics were much better today. 30 miles.
• Spent some one on one time with an intern looking over his sortable columns and sortable table stuff. It was an interesting use of java script. We got the intern paid up and then I worked with another intern for a bit. We created him an adilas account and helped him create a couple of invoices for billing us for his time.
