Notes:
• Finished up the add multi core data (flex grid tie-ins) page for the teacher and the teacher/student interface. Posted files online. This is the first page that adds multiple pieces of flex grid in bulk. Pretty cool!
• Went in to Logan for day one of the adilas training. I have been kind of sick and dealing with allergies. My sister was able to step in and help out multiple times through the three-day course. These notes were recorded after the fact on 9/28/13. Anyway, once training started only my sister and I were on the GoToMeeting seminar. We started to work on a brainstorming document dealing with tools, what they do, how we use them, what are the features, advantages, and benefits? We also talked about limitations and how to break different models. Eventually we had some others join us and we even un-muted a contact for a discussion on web and cloud stuff. We spent the first hour talking about the different tools. We did have to shut down and restart due to some technical sound issues. One of the guys that I interviewed up on campus came to the class in Logan. He is a USU student and came for an interview/training. I actually interviewed him on 9/23. As part of our training course, I had both my sister and this guy take turns teaching and showing different concepts. That helped me with my voice and also gave them chances to teach and have some hands on learning. Good stuff. After lunch we were joined by others and another USU student came to see us. It was really fun to see the younger generation take to the system. With minimal effort, they were able to navigate around and get the tasks done. The topic for the day was sales, inventory tracking, and other point of sale features. We touched on invoices, customers, vendors, parts, services, PO’s, recipe/builds, barcodes, labels, and credit card scanners. We touched on flex grid and even got a lesson from one of the interviewing interns on how data was stored in databases. I though the class was very good. 30 miles.
• Emails and light tech support. Contacting USU interns and potential candidates for the assistant web developer position.
