We need a new button that is available from inside the shopping cart. It would help direct all cart users to a common place. Currently, you can apply discounts per line item (in the edit mode), you can add one manually (special line items), or you can add one to the cart as a whole (profit and discount calculator). What we need a mini app that has a button right from the main view cart page. It (the mini app) creates a point and click interface for the cart (just the line items). You could then apply a discount to the entire cart (all items would be clicked) or you could pick and choose which items get the discount (only select one or more items). Keep the interface slim but allow for dollars off or percentage off. Use some java-script to show some of the local calcs so that they know what is going to happen before it gets applied. Dummy things down and make it very button friendly. Make it obvious and easy! |
