Duplicate Recipe
This page allows you to take an existing recipe/build and duplicate it (as many times as needed) with slight modifications. The page is broken up into two main sections. The top is the main or main recipe/build information. This includes things like the name, the date, the yield info, the barcode, and the notes. Basically, this is the main information to help you find and look things up for your recipe. Here is the main help page for the normal add/edit main recipe, if you need further information.

The lower section deals with the recipe/build line items. These are the ingredients and outputs that your recipe will make and/or help you hold preset values. Each field is open to edit as needed. This is not a full list, but things like the quantity, part/item id number, custom description options, show/hide status, costing options, pricing options, notes, and line item sort values. The checkboxes on the left side are to help you include or exclude certain lines while you are duplicating. Only checked lines will be duplicated. Here is the help page for adding and editing recipe line items, if you need more information or clarification.

As a special updating tip, if you are duplicating a recipe and want to change an item out, if you know the part/item id number (look it up in a different window or tab and copy/paste the id into the correct spot), just replace it with the one you want and the page will fill in the rest for you (costs, prices, descriptions - once submitted) as long as no fixed or hardcoded values are being used (custom descriptions, custom prices, etc.). If you have questions, play around with it before you get too crazy. Also, if you need to change or edit anything after the fact, the normal recipe/build tools will let you do that.

On a techy side, the page goes through a bunch of loops, checks, and validation. If an error occurs, please read the error message and check the form field and/or line number in question. If everything passes, you won't see any error messages. Once duplicated, the recipe will be ready to use and/or you could duplicate the new one that you just made. Think of it as a bulk tool of sorts for recipes.

Because recipe/builds can be used for so many different things, such as kitting, bill of materials, manufacturing, internal builds, packaging, and selling preset groups, here are some other key help files that you may want to look at:
