Change Model Numbers
This page helps with model clean-up. The page is divided into two main parts. The top is the search form. The results and actual change form will show up below the main search form.

Note: In order to delete an incorrect model from the list, no units (regardless of status inv, sold, or deleted) can not be assigned to the model.

Top search form fields:

1. Change From Make - Choose a make from the list provided. This is the make that has some incorrect models in it. These will be the models that get changed.

2. Change From Model Filter - Optional. This is an additional filter to help filter the change from models. For instance: Say you have a number of models per make and only want the models that start with "SL". Enter the filter "SL" and the results will return anything that has the string "SL" in it. There are built in wild cards to help keep the filter flexible.

3. Change To Make - Choose a make from the list provided. This could be a different make or the same make if you are trying to clean-up models within a specific make. This will end up being the destination make and model category.

4. Change To Model Filter - Optional. This is similar to the filter above but applies to the change to models. There are built-in wild cards to help keep the search flexible. Say you have hundreds of models per make, it you enter a filter, you record count might be reduced to 10 or a more manageable number. This can be changed at any time.

5. Multi Corp Chooser - This will only appear if you have more than one corporation and are dealing with vehicles, trailers, and toppers. All other models are make and corporation specific. If available, you can select different corporations to work out of and effect makes and models in that corporation at the same time. There is also a value of all which applies to all of your assigned corporations.

6. Sort By - Choose a sort method from the list provided.

Help with the search results:

The results will have two different sections. The one on the left will be the "change from" options. These are the options that will be changed or modified. Check the models that need to be changed. More than one model is allowed, however, only one "change to" model may be selected at a time. Each section will also have a number of links. The link on the model name/number will take you to the edit page for the model. The link(s) under the count column will take you to a drill-down page and will show all models, regardless of status. If you are dealing with more than one corporation, all corporations and the respective model counts will show up under the count column. The order that they show up will match the order in the multi corp chooser drop-down form control.

Note: If the count shows 0 but you still can't delete a make or a model, you may need to check the other corporations that you might be assigned to. If you need additional help and there appears to be another corporation, outside of your control, using the same model number, contact a system administrator for help.
