Shop 1610 Adilas time 8/2/2016   Day two working back on sub inventory. We worked on the add/edit sub inventory page. We started in and read over the main page. Started fixing things as we ran into them. As we got deeper, the changes got deeper as well. That kicked off a whole page of brainstorming notes and looking at the bigger picture. See attached for a copy of the notes. (the attachment has been built on for the last month, but it will give a flavor of what was being talked about.)

Shop 1421 Calvin Chipman 8/2/2016   Emails and talking to Nick about options and direction. On a quick call with Calvin, just touching base on what is going on. He is in pretty deep and trying to decide if he is patching things, fixing things, or fully re-writing things. We have to decide the scope of this projects. Is it small, medium, or large? Right now, both of us are voting on a small/medium type patch.

Shop 1572 Russell time 8/2/2016   Circling back to this entry on 9/12/16. No record of what was covered. All that was on the post-it notes were things like:

- Idea from Russell - What if sub inventory was held and tracked under elements fo time and the project manager.

- We could trak all of the details on main hours, campaigns, sales, returns, etc. Let everything flow where it needs to for accounting and reporting and then help show things and sum things up on the elements of time.

- Be able to copy and paste sub inventory templates. Be able to use other templates, alter things as needed, do a save as.

- Setup a number of mini snippets and pre-set attributes and then mix and blend things from your own virtual libraries.

- Tie the project manager to the community funded projects. Keep things tightly woven together to help with selling more options and managing the project clear through all of the phases.

Once again, I'm not sure what we worked on in our session but the above were on post-it notes with the date of 8/2/16 on it. These notes were added on 9/12/16 by Brandon.

Shop 1697 Review custom PDF's with a client 8/2/2016   Called and worked with Jason from Global Design Assembly to go over about 7-8 custom PDF's. The original project was done by Bryan. They haven't used it very much so I ended up doing some light training and such. They wanted us to fix a number of things. I tried to help them know what their options were. Things got a little bit heated and then we got on the same page. They were making demands and requests and I was trying to tell them what that would take to actually do that. We finally got on the same page and worked through things. It came out that they weren't really wanting what they were saying, they just needed a certain piece as a work around. However, they were expressing it as a requirement (deal breaker), with no extra charges, and I was trying to tell them what it was going to take to get to that level. Small misunderstanding.

As a side note, they would like to see what it would take to be able to email out PO's to vendors. I gave them a rough quote of $700 to wire everything up and make it work.

Shop 1040 Adilas time 8/3/2016   Day 3 of the sub inventory stuff. Tons of work on brainstorming and setting goals. See the media/content on time id # 1694. Look for entries made on 8/3/16. Use this link to go to the media/content search results.

Some of the ideas:
- Take sub inventory clear out to the task management and project management level.

- Three biggies - 1. Powerful, 2. Easy, 3. Looks Nice -- if yes, we could sell this to almost anyone.

- Education and tons of options there.

- Take the adilas university model and extend that type of functionality to our clients as an additional service.

- Permissions and certifications

- Huge session on S.M.A.R.T. Goals lead by Russell. Nick took notes (see media/content on time id # 1694). Lots of good information there.

Shop 1422 Calvin Chipman 8/3/2016   On the phone with Calvin going over progress. Talking about functions and making things more standard.

Note from Calvin expressing problems with the current system. - Take the logic into functions at as many levels as possible - Think one-to-many, even in the code and logic as well as the display.

Shop 1696 Shannon Time 8/3/2016   Spent the first half an hour doing emails and playing with POS (point of sale) hardware like receipt printers, barcode scanners, label writers, and such.

On a GoToMeeting session with Shannon. We were talking about project management, tasks, jobs, & communication. We did a couple of quotes & got caught up on changes and what is going on.

Here are a couple of notes from our conversation:
- Task management through adilas - What do I need to do? Help answer that question.

- Unified communication

- Who has what job and what are the requirements?

- We need to setup some rules & regulations - virtual safety nets.

- Who is doing what and who has the tools to play the game?

Shop 1698 Meeting with Beaver Mountain 8/3/2016   Went into to Beaver Mountain to do a POS (point of sale) demo. I took a bunch of POS hardware pieces to help with the demo. I met Dave Forbis there as well as Kris Kofoed. We met and talked for a bit and then I setup my stuff and mostly interacted with Kristy Seeholzer. We kinda had our own little meeting going on while everybody else was chatting and shooting the breeze. Good session and I tried to point them to use Dave Forbis as a good adilas contact. Good stuff.

Here are a few notes from our meeting:
- On all new items, default the show on the web setting to off or no. They don't want there stuff to show up automatically. That could be a good corp-wide setting.

- They would love a feature for cost plus a percentage - either a pricing model and/or a discount calculation. Technically, they could do it right now in the advanced add to cart by changing the mark-up (calc based off of cost) but they might want an easier tool. Just an idea.

We pushed up help files, merged things into master, checked things out, and added new options to the client's chooser options. This little report mixes main invoice details, flex grid, custom mappings for line items, and overall math on the profit for the invoices. Good session.

Shop 3479 Virtual Post-It Note 8/5/2016   -9:30-5:30 Bryan Dayton came over and we worked on signing off on the in-line discounts and dollars off project. I helped him with a couple of other projects and we got into the meat of things. I was going through things and he was helping here and there and doing his own projects. Mostly, he was there to help me stay on track. We got lots of phone calls, emails, and text messages throughout the day. We did make some good progress, but it was slow and pretty deep. LONG DAY.

Shop 1509 Sub inventory work session 8/8/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Alan, Nick, Russell, and Steve. We were working on the PO side of the add/edit sub inventory methods and functions. Our goal was to track down and standardize four different values dealing with sub inventory. They were sub costs, sub RFID tag numbers, sub inventory dates, and sub units of measure. We finished up the PO side and then did some light bug fixing. We talked about some needed tweaks on the invoice side. That will be tomorrows main focus. Good session.

The first hour was spent looking at some possible errors and bugs. Steve lead that section. We then fixed one of the pieces and got it all ready to go. The last half of the meeting was with Nick, Brandon, and Alan. We did some training and started to look under the covers on the invoice side. We did some training on the flow, the accounting, and the different possible ways of getting information into the internal shopping cart. Lots of concept and theory.

We also did some light tech support and fixed some API socket pieces and JSON samples.

Shop 1041 Brandon - Working on own projects 8/10/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Steve, Alan, and Nick. We did some brainstorming on permissions, settings, and concepts of the data assembly line. We drew out a number of ideas and options. We then tracked down a bug in the main getSubInventory method. We made a number of changes and then went and tested those changes. We pushed the file live and made some notes.

Shop 1426 Calvin Chipman 8/10/2016   On a zoom session with Calvin. We looked over some of his new code for sub inventory. We then migrated all of 8 files that Nick, Steve, Alan, and I were working on into his new code and project. That was slick and really helped to have it current in our minds. It also helps to know that both parties have talked and merged code and files. That makes me feel good. Our goal is to help work together and standardize things as we go. Good stuff.

Shop 1717 Code sign-off or in-line discounts and dollars off 8/10/2016   Bryan came over and we worked on some in-line discounts and dollars off code. We spent our whole session on the advanced add to cart page. Lots of testing and rearranging of code and such. Instead of going as fast as possible, I was on purpose trying to slow down and make things right. Once it gets done, you feel so much better about it. That really helps and is worth its weight in peace of mind.

Shop 1511 Sub inventory work session 8/11/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Nick and Alan. We spent the first little while talking about their current other projects. We went and looked around at some of the more advanced exports to Excel for Alan and talked about ways to get sub totals for Nick.

Once we got going on sub inventory, we spent the whole day on the submit cart page. That page took us on a number of learning tangents and I thought it was a good session. We followed some sub inventory pieces all around and made a couple of new notes.

Some of the invoice topics we talked about were: hidden vs. visible line items, recipe/builds, stock/units, wholesale carts and tickets, internal repair tickets (transfer from normal inventory to a stock/unit), additional customer tie-ins (shipping, co-signers, special delivery instructions, etc.), inventory transfers, and sub inventory.

Shop 1733 Email error handling 8/11/2016   Russell and I were working on some email functionality for his ecommerce stuff. I got to thinking, we need some more robust error handling and maybe even some history recording for the current emailing of quotes and invoices from the adilas system. Currently, it says it has sent it no mater what. Maybe we should show more error handling and actually watch for a valid response. We may also want to record any history notes about emails that weren't sent or that got rejected. All of the did not pass or succeed emails end up coming back to me. It might be cool if we could record that and make a note on the invoices or somehow allow that to be searchable. Just an idea.

Shop 1427 Calvin Chipman 8/11/2016   On a zoom session working with Calvin on sub inventory. We ended up talking about how to run pre queries and then use lists of id numbers to help filter other later queries. That lead us to talk about how we were going to do dynamic searches on the new custom date, numeric, and text values tables. We looked at some older code and then we talked about adding a column number field to help with keeping track of which field holds which piece of data. We also needed a separate sort field that would allow us to filter things as needed. Kinda deep database talk and what not. Good session.

Shop 1575 Russell time 8/11/2016   On a zoom session with Russell. We started out and talked about possible flex hours and both working together out in the public market for project management, graphics, design, and custom code work.

Next we spent over an hour chasing an email bug. We tested and tested and even called tech support on the servers. All of the sudden, it started working again. Kinda random and we don't know if they flipped something on the server or if it just started working somehow.

Next we jumped into some code to help with PayPal and doing ecommerce transactions through PayPal. We rewrote a few pages and then did some testing. We were pulling code from multiple places and putting it together to help us with the new pages and flow.

Shop 1729 Working with Calvin 8/11/2016   Calvin came over and we worked on some new database changes for sub inventory. He had a small plan written out that we went over. We made a few changes and then started to make the changes. We were also lightly working on the real database in-line extensions (custom fields and custom data storage options). Good stuff.

On a different note, Calvin said something tonight that I wanted to record. He said that if a client asks him how much, he says "$100/hour or $500 to do an estimate." Basically, he says either $100/hour or I need you to pay for my time to get you a real quote or estimate. I really struggle with that and end up blasting out a price without looking potentially deep enough on the project. I may adjust the values, but I'd like to do something more along those lines. That could really help.

Shop 1731 Helping Nick with a custom report 8/12/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Nick. We were working through some final tweaks on a custom report for a Trailer company. Actually, the company is a financial institution and they finance trailers and dealers. The custom report was a mix between invoices, customers, flex grid, and custom mapping on some specific invoice line items. Kinda fun. Anyways, we finished things up and pushed the new files up and live.

Shop 1615 Adilas time 8/15/2016   Working with Steve and Nick over a GoToMeeting session. We worked on sub inventory and also chased a couple of bug around. Most of our time was looking over the add quote line items stuff and making sure that the sub inventory pieces were good and stable in those areas. We then started going over some code on the add to cart (main add page for the internal shopping cart) page. That spun us off into a number of sub topics and sub tangents. Pretty crazy day.

As a side note, we need to look into recipe/builds a little bit deeper. Currently they don't use sub inventory and we need to check for 5 decimals of accuracy as well as some rounding errors.

2:30 - 3:15 pm - Emails and paying bills.

Shop 1616 Adilas time 8/16/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Nick, Steve, and Kelly Whyman. We were going over sub inventory stuff. Nick, Steve and I started out and then Kelly joined us a little bit later. We fixed some bugs and tracked down some changes on the add/edit sub inventory method. We started to get off on a tangent and got pulled back to focusing on the main component pieces.

We did follow a possible bug around dealing with sub disabled field and functionality. Basically, there is a field that allows a package to be open and shown, open but disabled, or closed and hidden (3 different settings). Some of the code forces the value and that could be a possible problem.

Once Kelly joined us, we spent a lot of time talking about a full map and master plan. We talked a lot about going to the source of the actions and fixing and validating things at that level. We also talked about bigger more general watcher and global checkpoints of sorts. These are places that have natural funnels and we could run some logic and checks in bulk. Good session.

Over the next couple of weeks, we are planning to include Kelly and some of the sales reps to get a different take on what is needed and wanted on the operations (ground floor) level. Kelly is also planning to help us map things out and setup some expectations of sort. That will be good. Overall a great session. We welcome the help and input.

Shop 1747 Working through some logic on sub inventory 8/16/2016   Spent some time looking into sub inventory and which pieces should control what other pieces. Instead of looking at sub inventory as a whole, I'm thinking we need to add some different logic based on if the transaction is part of the main source package or transaction or just a sub transaction. Maybe that would help us find a good point to key off of vs. a super open - no rules model. Rules of how to play are starting to come into affect and that is kinda cool.

Shop 1734 CCG check code 8/17/2016   Bryan came over and we looked over some of his custom code for a client. He is making a one page form that is tied to a customer. Once the form is submitted, it creates an invoice, populates some PDF's, and records the media/content pieces. Basically a one-page custom wire job for invoicing and document management. Pretty cool.

At the very end, we talked about another possible job that he could quote out and maybe work on. We are trying to get Bryan to operate more on the private level or full independent level. Good stuff.

Shop 1042 Brandon - Working on own projects 8/17/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Steve. We spent the first hour going over costs of goods sold and how that ties into sub inventory. We then merged and pushed up new code to all servers. There were about 25 files that changes. We then tested on live servers and ran some database updates and clean-up scripts. Steve and I were just chatting while we were doing these smaller tasks. Catching up and dreaming about what is coming next. Yee haw!

Nick and I were on the call but the ladies never showed up. We ended up talking about some of the current projects that are on the docket. We spent some time prepping some files and making sure that Nick had the concept of how we do the adilas API sockets and the updates that are needed there. We basically just used the GoToMeeting session to discuss where we are headed next.

Shop 1738 Working with Eric Tauer on an API 8/19/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Eric Tauer from appLab in Salida, CO. Eric had a new API socket that he wanted to push up. We looked over some code, did some standardization, and then did some testing. We were missing some of the custom database tables so we push things live. Once it was live, we had to do some more testing and debugging. Normally we do all of the testing local and then push it live. This one, we had to flip that due to the custom nature of it.

Once we got it all up and good to go, I showed Eric how to record the documentation portion of the project. We added the API socket documentation and went from there. The thing that took the longest was the live debugging. That is tough when you don't know where things are breaking because you don't have a good debugging tool on the live servers without making changes, pushing files, testing, and then altering files, and re-pushing files again.

Shop 1739 In-line discount code with Bryan 8/19/2016   Bryan came over at 10 am. However, I was still working with Eric on a GoToMeeting session. He worked on some of his own projects while I finished up. Once we got working together, we went over some questions that he had. He made a couple of small tweaks and talked about his current projects. We then spent some time looking over a new project that Bryan will be doing and/or bidding out. Lots of prep and planning.

Shop 1748 Calvin Time 8/19/2016   On a zoom session with Calvin. We looked at his code and he showed me his direction and progress. We went over a couple small things and then moved into a merge process. Both of us are working on sub inventory. His project is very database heavy and my project (along with Steve, Alan, and Nick) is more of a logic clean-up project. Anyways, we got the merge done and went over file by file. That really feels good to get those two pieces merged as we go vs. waiting until the very end and doing a big push or merge session. That will still be needed (final merge session), but it helps to keep things up to date as much as possible.

Shop 1751 Clean-up time with Brandon and Nick 8/20/2016   Saturday morning session between Nick and I. We were on a GoToMeeting session and going over the adilas API socket project. We started at the ground level and tried to work our way up, testing, commenting, and making sure all was well and good. Great session and we cleaned up a bunch of code and new pieces that had not been fully tested. Good stuff.

Shop 1619 Adilas time 8/23/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Steve, Nick, Alan, and Danny Shuford. We spent the first hour going over in-line database extensions, fracturing into subs, and the new options built in to elements of time called sub flags and tags (ways of making sub groups, types, flags, sub locations, sub phases, etc.). Super fun session looking forward and talking about options and custom data storage.

We then got back on sub inventory and started tracking down a small bug that allowed for subs to be over sold if using a smart group button. We found that the page where the error was is actually a sub funnel to the main add to cart page. We also found that there are 7 different sub pages that flow into the sub funnel before going into the main funnel.

We went through some code and made lists of pieces that are being looked for, used, and passed in. We then went to one of the seven sub pages and started to look around and see what is actually being passed. Kinda playing a detective type game most of the day. By the end, we have a good idea where to start tomorrow and what is needed. Interesting day.

Shop 1043 Adilas Time 8/24/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Steve, Nick, and Alan. We were working on some changes and fixes for sub inventory. Our goal for the day was stopping people from overselling sub inventory packages. We spent a lot of time tracking down pages and pieces that dealt with smart group buttons (tiered pricing) and how they play into sub inventory. We ended up cleaning up a number of pages and adding additional validation to help keep things tight.

At both the beginning and ending of the session, we flipped over and helped Steve with some of what he is doing and coding. He is working on different state based API's and what not.

Shop 1434 Calvin Chipman 8/24/2016   On a zoom session with Calvin. He showed me around all of the new code and pages that he has modified. We basically hit tons of pages that deal with sub inventory so that I could see that everything was functioning at least on the surface level. We also talked about next steps and how to deploy some of the custom auto migration processes and new database tools that Calvin has been working on.

Shop 1721 Adilas For Business 8/24/2016   Working with Russell on some new database plans and settings for stock/units. He has a client that wants some of the stock/unit pieces built out a bit. We did some planning and then started into the web options such as reviews, specs, long web descriptions, and video links. We will be mirroring some of the similar settings that already exist in the general inventory (parts and items) section for ecommerce.

Shop 1753 Alan Time 8/25/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Alan. We were working through the new exports to Excel files. Microsoft made some changes to how Excel works and it broke a number of our export pages. During the session, Alan and I were having problems with data formatting in Excel and making row and column formatting stick. It was converting numbers to dates and vice versa. Kinda random.

Shop 1620 Adilas time 8/25/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Nick, Alan, and Steve. We worked on the edit process for invoice line items and how that relates to sub inventory. We were trying to protect sub inventory and sub packages from being oversold in the invoice pages (sales after the fact or updating quantities). Alan lead out and helped us through some of math on the sub inventory stuff. That is not my strong point. We also worked on the global find and replace function. We found a number of update queries that had not been included in the original global find and replace function.

Shop 1435 Calvin Chipman 8/25/2016   On a zoom meeting with Calvin and Alan. Calvin showed Alan around for our current project. We went over a rough game plan on how to roll out some of the new changes for sub inventory. Lots of talk about the possibilities with what Calvin is doing and working on. As a fun side note, Calvin's current work and project is a first mini round of custom data storage options and real in-line database extensions. That is pretty cool.

Shop 1743 API calls 8/25/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Nick. We were working on the adilas API socket project. We spent quite a bit of time testing, commenting, and detailing out some of the API socket documentation. We already have a number of clients using the API sockets. We are trying to make sure that it gets easier and easier and smoother and smoother. Big project.

Shop 1737 Adilas Time 8/26/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Nick, Alan, and Steve. We found a possible error in one of the play sites and its data. We weren't sure if it was a coding error or a data error. We found that it was a data error. The vendor information had been crossed and lightly contaminated. We had to find the problem and fix it. We ended up building a special page to look things up, check the values, and then be able to fix things item by item.

To our knowledge, only one site was affected. We figure that the cross contamination of the data was coming from misuse of the adilas API sockets (external parties pushing data into our database). Nick and I went in and added some new code to the addInvoiceLineItem method to help double check and force certain values inside the API. The new code won't launch for a couple days, but we are hoping that will stop any data contamination problems. Fixing that problem took most of the session today.

Shop 1757 Calvin Time 8/26/2016   On a zoom meeting with Calvin, Steve, and Alan. Calvin gave Steve a demo of his auto process (database to database tool and code set). I added in some vision of what this will do in the future and we had a good session. At the end of the session, Calvin and I merged our files together to keep our projects on the same page. We are both working on sub inventory. Things are looking good.

As a side note, when Steve was on the call, we talked about using Calvin's auto process tools for getting people off the bus (shared database environment and world building projects). We also talked about backend clean-up options such as ice-down dates and daily totals per location for custom balance sheet and financial reports. Watchers, feeders, and 3D calendars and time models. Cool options and fun stuff.

Shop 1621 Adilas time 8/29/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Nick, Alan, and Steve. We started out the day looking into the logic for the sub inventory barcode searches. We have a file that was created clear back on 12/24/15 (Christmas time last year) with some logic and flow chart ideas on how to treat the barcode searched for both parent and sub inventory.

We got pulled off onto a bug look-up for about 1.5 hours. It is a ColdFusion administrator error that shows up on 3 different invoices. We spent some time looking into that. I finally had to walk away and let Nick and Steve look at some things by themselves.

We then started working on the barcode logic. We only got about an hour into coding the new logic and switches.

Shop 1755 In-Line $ Discounts: ADI-146 8/29/2016   Bryan came over to my house. We went over some new projects and small tweaks that were needed for a client on some PDF's. I got him paid on another job at Dave Forbis' request. We then talked about getting a setup quote for data 6 (new adilas data server).

We then worked for about an hour on the javascript for the advanced add to cart page. It gets pretty deep and lots of flip flopping of variables and values. Bryan helped me stay on track and get the changes made. I kept going all over the place (kinda getting lost). I was very grateful for his help.

After Bryan left, I spent a little bit of time doing some clean-up and recording notes. We were going pretty fast.

Shop 1622 Adilas time 8/30/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Nick, Alan, and Steve. Nick and Alan tracked down a small bug together and we changed the files accordingly. That was fun to watch. We were having a problem with a blank array. After that, we then jumped into the barcode stuff. I was coding and Nick and Alan and Steve where watching and helping me.

We had a logic flow chart that we were following and doing our code from there. We made some good progress and got a number of the barcode scenarios done and tested. The goal is barcode searches with corp-wide settings, with open and closed carts, and switching between parent items and sub inventory item barcode searches. Good stuff.

Shop 1437 Calvin Chipman 8/30/2016   On a Zoom session with Calvin. Touching base on the plan for pushing up some new code for sub inventory. Calvin also showed me some of the new changes he is making to the MySQL auto process tools. We are planning on meeting tonight to merge some code and then tomorrow morning to push things to one of the servers for some live testing. This has been a project that has been on the stove for a couple of months. It is exciting to see it getting closer to be launched.

Shop 1777 Barcode searches 8/30/2016   More work on the barcode search options. Also restored some of the smart group code for sub inventory. We had the screws a little bit too tight. We had to loosen things up a bit.

Finished up a report for Russell Moore and Chris Johnnie for sales reps, adilas consultants, and adilas developers. They needed the contact info for the adilas market and adilas world apps. I'm excited to see that take hold and get pushed forward.

Light tech support and sending emails and screenshots to different people. Other emails and such.

Shop 1778 More barcode fixes 8/30/2016   More logic on the barcode searches for parent and child (sub) inventory. Finished just before Calvin called to get the latest files. Calvin and I jumped on a zoom session and merged tons of files together (latest changes) and then a huge push into the master copy. We both backed up our local files and started the process. The last thing we did was do some prep work for tomorrow morning early. It was a late night and long day today.

Shop 1779 Installing updates with Calvin 8/31/2016   Up early and working with Calvin. We installed his MySQL database auto processing tool and ran the first five updates through it. This was a pretty major deal for sub inventory. The total time was very short but it was going through numerous tables and adding columns, adding tables, and removing older columns. It did some back-ups, it had restore options, and it had preset instructions. Pretty well thought out. It went quite smooth for an upload.

We then pushed up almost 70 new files and started to test. Everything that we hit looked good. We sent some messages to the users who were going to be testing and they jumped in and started to test as well. This has been a project that has stretched over a month in preparations. Good stuff.
