AU 1244 Daily Tasks 6/1/2013   • Checking different settings and GoToMeeting stuff. The last Logan training didn’t record very well. Everything was “chipmunk” fast. Both audio and video.
• Logging into the new dedicated server. Trying to get new settings and accounts in to place. Wasn’t very easy to get setup and I have a call into tech support.
• Working on eCommerce. Working on the customer sign in logic.
• On the phone with Steve talking about new servers, configuration options, training, custom code, and eCommerce. Good stuff!
• Working on settings for the new server. Emails back and forth with tech support.
• Went in to Smithfield to work with my brother on the adilas training video footage. Good session and we are making progress. 15 miles.
• Finalizing some plans for the server switch and change to the new server.
• Working on eCommerce settings.
• On the phone with Steve talking about future tweaks to the database, migrating to the new server, and custom code. We have a number of possible tweaks that we can do to buy ourselves time and make things run smoother and smoother.
• Playing with modified number formats for time values.
• Used DatePart and NumberFormat to put each section into a 2 digit number. Basically, any number or any time values gets converted into a standard 24x60x60 (HMS) format. In English, this means military time minus the colons. For Example: 01:55:20 = 015520 or 17:00:30 = 170030

AU 1247 Daily Ideas 6/1/2013   -“Empower the people!”
-We may end up storing dates and times as integers using a modified format for both dates and times.
- Modified dates could be stored yyyymmdd as numbers
- Modified times could be stored hhmmss as numbers.
-Dates and times already, convert to numeric values, however, they are not very human readable. If we modified and forced the numeric format, it would make the data easier to read and to search.
-It may be as easy as a date/time mask and just remove the slashes and dashes. For example: 6/3/13 could be stored as 20130603 which is modified format of 2013/06/03 (yyyymmdd). Time could be the same thing. Just use military time. For example 1:30 pm could be stored as 133000 (hhmmss) which would be 13:30:00. Anyway, just some ideas.
-If we do this, we will index the dates and then use them to search by.

AU 2288 Note - Adilas Tools & Features from 2010 6/1/2013   Scan of Tools & Features from adilas.biz – See scan in photo gallery for 6/1/13
This list of features was printed on 6/1/13.
The original list was created in January of 2010. Over three years ago. We haven’t even updated this list since then. Kind of crazy! Think of what we could add to it now?

AU 1245 Daily Tasks 6/3/2013   • Updating expenses and images. Bank stuff.
• Back on eCommerce and the customer sign-in process.
• On the phone with Steve going over a GoToMeeting and doing ColdFusion code stuff. He is getting better and better. That is awesome!
• On the phone with an associate talking about adilas stuff. She is going to help with the July training class.
• Working on testing the customer sign in section for eCommerce.

AU 1246 Daily Tasks 6/4/2013   • Working on adding and editing customer information using the backend eCommerce section and customer sign in portal. Brainstorming on flow.
• Checking in with the server team at Newtek to plan the server migration process.
• Updating pages about upcoming server migration.
• Tech support and phone calls.
• Rereading over the Adilas, LLC. Operation agreement document.
• On the phone with Steve. We talked about current client needs, using technology, adilas university, education, reps, training centers, and marketing ideas. We talked about the adilas mall and what we may want to call it. We had a great discussion and ended up talking about “World Building” and fun related concepts. We decided to change the “adilas mall” concept to the “adilas world” concept. This will be a special site that will highlight and showcase users, reps, consultants, CPA’s, Attorneys, trainers, graphic people, code writers, etc. We had a great time talking about how world building and adilas go hand in hand. The deeper we get, the more we see a need for a community of users and eventually B2B business to business transactions.
• Revamping the original adilas operational agreement from back in 2009. Kind of fun. Sent copies to Steve and David.

AU 1248 Daily Ideas 6/4/2013   -Notes from a phone call with Steve – Use technology! Mall, social media, community, system, B2B, “adilas world”.
-We may want to purchase these domain names:
- adilasworld.biz
- adilasworld.com
-In our training sessions… It would be really fun to simulate business to business transactions. Say Company A sells to Company B. We do the invoice on one side and then the PO on the other side. Then show how they could be tied together using an application flex grid (future project). Kind of fun to show the whole flow and process.
-“Game” or “Game Mode” interface. This would be another option for the users to get into game mode inside of adilas. Not everybody will like this, but it could help a number of people engage and “play” on that level.

AU 1656 Daily Tasks 6/5/2013   • Prep for meeting with the bank. Quick phone call to Steve. Printing out documents and such.
• Went in to town and signed papers for a new bank account. This account will be used for ACH and EFT transactions. That is where we will be doing direct debits (taking money) and direct deposits (pushing money). I also talked with our banker about options for getting an SBA Loan for adilas. Good stuff!
• After the bank I took a few June training flyers around to different people. I took some to the Business Resource Center. I then took some to a contact at the BATC Business Department. I chatted with them for a bit. While at Bridgerland, I dropped in to see my dad as well. 20 miles.
• Emails and bank stuff. Send them a rough budget for the SBA Loan.
• Recording hours and notes.
• Working on eCommerce and adding and editing web customer info.
• On the phone with Newtek going over issues with the new server. We had a couple of questions and couldn’t get them figured out. We ended up figuring out that a CFX extension for Cold Fusion was an older 32 bit program and didn’t work on the new 64 bit servers. Light research on the cfimage tag.
• On the phone with a local Cache Valley company that might be interested in using adilas.
• Working on cfimage tag stuff. Made a bunch of changes and uploaded and tested files. Swapped out an older CFX tag or extension for a new way to process images. It seems to be a bit slower but hopefully it will help us do the transition.
• Spent a couple of hours updating login files and testing the new server.
• On the phone with tech support going over migration stuff and checking files and pages on the server.
• Pointed all logins to the new server and did some light testing.

AU 1657 Daily Tasks 6/6/2013   • Logged in and tested pages. Got a call from a client, he said that the Flash Check Write application wouldn’t work. I checked it and it had some hard coded URL variables and address stuff. Made those changes.
Then the server started freaking out. I logged in and checked settings and rebooted things. I logged back in and then it went down again. We started getting calls and emails. Everybody got locked out of the system. I answered as many phone calls and emails as I could. Eventually I had to just leave them alone. I put up messages, auto cleared login counts, and made calls to tech support. Along with lots of prayers, the server tech at Newtek added a new database connection file, we restarted the server and it worked. Huge blessings! Sent out some emails to help inform some of the people.
Went in to Smithfield to work with my sister and brother on adilas stuff. My sister and I had a session on the developer’s notebook. She showed me some files and scans. We also talked about how we are planning to sew things together. Good stuff. My brother showed me the progress he is making on editing the video from the first adilas training back in February 2013. It is coming along very good and he is getting into the flow of things. 15 miles.
• Emails, tech support, and monitoring the server. Sent an email to the SBA Banker. Light introduction and a couple of flyers.
• Scanning and documenting the revised operating agreement for adilas.biz. Posted files online.
• Quick clean-up from this morning. Error messages, notes and auto clean-ups.

AU 1675 Daily Ideas 6/7/2013   -Packages – This is a sub off the parts department and section. We need a sub section where users could create packages. This would pull from inventory and virtually be its own little item (one time usage) of a bigger bulk item. This also may end up helping with conversions.
-Packages could also hold prices, custom descriptions and prices, sales, expiration dates, set quantities, etc. Think of buying ground beef from the store. Most likely, you only want one part number for ground beef. However, you may sell thousands of smaller packages. Each with its own weight (quantity) and price. These could be set up as subs of the main ground beef part number.
-Each package would get its own id and its own barcode number. I’m thinking about something like “pkg778” where 778 would be the auto generated id number. Anyway, something simple and unique.
-On custom barcode labels – We’ve had requests to make dynamic reports connect to the barcode generator with specific dynamic content being passed to the generator page. How cool would it be if you could map and create custom label formats using a point and click interface. Then be able to assign those labels in-line or natively into the system. You name it, you create it, and you assign it to an application type.
-On adding flex grid tie-ins. – we had a request to create a custom page that allows multiple pieces of flex grid be tied or added in bulk. Once again, what if you could choose which fields to use (point and click), name the custom page, and then only have those fields show up on the custom page. This could be very powerful and could create some cool options. The flex grid has over 40+ fields. If we could customize and/or assign fields especially in the add mode, that could really help. Some people have been intimidated by the flex grid… but if we could simplify it that would be awesome! The add multi part just deals with how many records or tie-ins to add at once. As a side, see the email to our rep in Colorado dated 6/7/13 for more information.
-I was thinking about potential benefits for each adilas corporation having their own database. I have already previously listed a number of ideas. These just need to be added to the list. Custom fields, custom data types, custom tables, custom link and relationships, and custom naming. I also thought about individual back-ups, disaster recovery, flushing inactive or old data, and limited reach on outside hack attempts - All good things. It takes more work to manage but the benefits are awesome!
-On the admin side – what about having a master data source per server. Then it (the master) could look-up what data source to use per corp. Because it could use a looked up value vs. a cryptic value, it could be harder to hack and thus better security per corporation.
-The deeper we get, the more and more security will play a role in the application.
-Harness the tools we already have in the shop – save settings, name reports, assign to different people, limit by users, locations, other criteria. Set defaults, change naming, and even alter or tweak in-line flow and functions. We already have thousands of pages that could be tweaked to new and huge levels. Pretty cool!
-At some point I may need to look into a CDN or Content Delivery Network. A guy at Newtek said to check out a company called “Cloud Flare”. I haven’t had any time yet. In the meantime, we will most likely set up our own content management system inside of adilas.

AU 1676 Daily Ideas 6/12/2013   -On permissions and settings – It would be nice to break things down into sections. This may help the user navigate and/or not be overwhelmed. It could be graphics, tabs, or physical page refreshes. It could also be expandable hidden div tags. Just some ideas.
-From Post-it note: Update links from the adilas.biz site to outside sources. Thinking about web application prep, view parts, and view stock/unit – these are eCommerce related links from adilas to outside pages to help view inventory.

AU 1677 Daily Ideas 6/13/2013   -At some point we will need to integrate with PayPal as a payment options. This could be on multiple levels… it could be a prompt for the person to login and send money through email or it could be a full checkout payment option. When we do add it as an option, we will need a new money type called “PayPal”.
-We had a request to be able to sort web inventory by different fields. As we go along, more and more people are wanting to get at their data and show it in different ways. It is very interesting to watch what people want and how they use our product.
-At some point we need to spend a couple of weeks and update help files and link pages together. I would love to add graphics, video, links, and general outline as to what goes on. Most of the help files are very specific as to specs and tech stuff. It would be nice to add flow options (flow charts), you are here info, and general guide lines. Make the help files very friendly.
-Once we get going with eCommerce stuff, there will be a need to be able to merge customer records. This could get pretty deep and needs to go to each level. This included main data, contacts, logs, history, statements, quotes, invoices, invoice line items, etc. Merging photos might be a problem. Maybe just make a note about not being able to merge photos for customers.
-Going back to help files – We may need to make a master list on the adilasuniversity.biz site. Then all applications and domain names (potentially quite a few) could all point to one spot. Another option is the main adilas.biz website instead of the adilasuniversity.biz site.

AU 1663 Daily Tasks 6/14/2013   • Light review of different pages. Rereading verbage and histories on the main adilas.biz website.
• Working on eCommerce and checkout procedures.
• Working on quick change to how time clocks are done for persons working on the graveyard shift. Added an auto roll over entry for people going past midnight. Also added a department variable as a pass through value to help with showing correct hours.
• Meeting with a contact at my house. She is a schoolteacher and needs to track her students and how they are doing in different subjects. After doing some consulting work, I told her how we could track things in adilas. I told her about customer, flex grid, and corp-wide settings. I think we can take care of her needs very simply using those pieces. The other piece of the puzzle is a small custom page or two to re-skin the existing functionality.
• Writing and recording notes.
• Finished up the auto rollover for the graveyard shift and spanning past the midnight time slot. Posted files online.
• Testing the new timecard tweaks for graveyard shifts. Small email to Steve and a rep about the tweaks.
• Working on eCommerce. Added an update to the news and update page for eCommerce and for the new time clock changes.

AU 1678 Daily Ideas 6/14/2013   -We have had requests to help automate time clocks for users who work the graveyard shifts. Basically, the system needs to clock them out and back in as they work past midnights, which is technically a new day. Currently each time card can only be from 12:00:01am (just after midnight) to 11:59:59pm (just before midnight) on the same day. In other words, each time card is only able to hold a 24 hour time block. The automation could be fairly easy and wouldn’t even have to happen until the user clocked out. At that point, it could check the current record (time card) and the assigned shift. If it was a grave or graveyard shift, it (the system) could do the automation process at that time. It could be pretty easy.

AU 1679 Daily Ideas 6/19/2013   -Soon, it might be time to add some graphics and icons to the pages. We want to mimic the page flow that we have on the printable invoice page. This has a couple buttons and then some hidden menu items under one of the buttons. It would also be nice to split off the home pages from the basic searches. Make the home pages a graphical jump zone for tasks at hand.
-On graphical layouts from home pages. What if for part of it you had a chooser of sorts that allowed jumping to certain pages. This could be edit main, edit line items, printable, history, verify, etc. It could be done with a single search field and then a graphical option list. Behind the scenes we could use a general form submit or some light Java Script to build the URL on the fly. Here is an example:
______ Invoice Number
• (Graphic) Edit Main
• (Graphic) Edit Line Items
• (Graphic) Printable
• (Graphic) Verify
• (Graphic) History
OR
______Invoice Number
With buttons for:
Edit Main
Edit Line Items
Printable
Verify
History
-The options above could use some Java Script to work as soon as a change was made. Try to limit the number of clicks.

AU 1681 Daily Ideas 6/22/2013   -On graphical home pages – Have a mini quick search for that application type. Maybe even have smaller help files to help with small or miniature tasks. We don’t have to put everything on one help file. We could break up the help files into smaller pieces as needed.
-If we made smaller specific help files, we could sew them together to help complete the whole. We could call them mini help files. We could also use small pop-up windows if we wanted to. Maybe some light Java Script.
-It is interesting how we have to go to smaller and smaller to get what we are looking for. Bigger seems easier to manage, but you get less flexibility with size. I’m sitting in a huge forest, tons of objects all around me. Some big and some small. The big objects (tress, rocks, mountains, rivers) are actually made up of tons of smaller pieces. By combining lots of smaller pieces, you get size, texture, depth, values, and lots of diversity. That makes it fun.
-I’m sitting here watching the sun shine through the trees. It is early morning and the sun creates lots of shadows and highlights as it hits the leaves and branches. Because the contrast is so intense, it creates a feeling of depth and volume.
-Another random thought about the forest – Time is very important here. I look at how everything interconnects. Things grow and fill areas. There is a spatial order (ex.: height) yet everything mixed together makes the whole. Time and space (area or volume) help to make the forest. Growth happens over time to fill space. In the forest there are many sizes. We only look and/or watch for a small span of time. A story is taking place that fills both space (area or volume) and time. We may play a part of that story depending on what we do. I think that it is interesting to think about time in a forest. – What happened here? On the surface? Under the ground? Over time? Natural? Forced? Etc. Lot of questions. God is a master and I marvel at His handy work!
-On eCommerce – We may need a couple more settings per part or item number. One of them deals with selling to anyone or only showing pricing after a person logs in. This is for wholesalers and people who only want to show pricing for existing customers.
-Add flags to show web orders, quotes, and invoices both from the respective homepages and on the physical objects (quotes or invoice).
-On eCommerce – We need some special reports to help the users know what to do and what is new – any action from the web.

Lots and lots of hands on learning. Towards the end of the day, I had fun doing a demo on objects and using plates, cups, and trays. 20 miles.

Adi 708 Custom Code - Titam 6/27/2013   1. Customer List - Each sales rep will be only able to see their own
2. Promo items - will be entered as inventory and sold at a "zero" cost on a customer basis. The sales reps will be able to access this (this is one I will be entering into the system once I am given counts and product name)-
3. Forms will be downloaded into the system for each sales rep/employee to sign ie: non-compete, non-disclosure... (I will provide these forms to Steve once Mark has approved them)
4. On the 21st day of each 30 day invoice automatically notify us so we can send a follow up reminder invoice and/or phone call
5. Dynamic Mapping - Steve has access to google maps but will look into what else they can connect to that may be more effective to route out the deliveries.
6. Set up E-commerce so the customer may place an order, but do not show an option to "pay online" for customer as we do not offer that yet.
7. Set it up on the E-commerce as a two case minimum or the order will not go through.
8. Re-set timer - Alert sales rep if there is no activity for the past 6 days on a customer.

Second meeting ...
Customer logs -
1. Have a check list and when a log is completed be able to check it off and have it removed from the "follow up" or "to do" list
2. Integrate the customer log with the calendar so there is only one entry but be able to view from log or calendar ie: follow ups, phone calls, emails...
3. Follow up with customers based on a 24 hr, 48 hr, 1 week, 2 week, etc time frame so there are buttons that the sales rep "click" to auto add this
Product Usage -
1. Expand so sales rep can see everything - Steve to add this as a "default" button on the home page for all reps
Prospect/Customer
1. Set up a notify button on the home page that lets the Reps know who needs to be followed up in the logs
2. Show only the Prospect or Customer "type" and under this have drop down buttons to show the types ie: bar, convenient store, etc
Customize the "customer" page -
1. Take out the individual's name under business name
2. Take out extra phone numbers and fields not needed
3. Take out extra lines under the "additional info" fields
4. If possible "auto" populate the county when a zip is inputted
(Steve to talk with Geremy to determine which fields are actually needed)
Price Changes -
1. Set up company standard price breaks as follows:
a. 1-4 cases = $38
b. 5-9 cases = $37
c. 10+ cases = $36
2. Set up "my cart favorites" and set up limits for sales reps and customers
3. Add smart group
Misc items:
1. on home page for everyone to see - name of sales rep and cases sold not dollar amounts
2. TBD - Sales reps to see each others customers (only those in the same state)
3. Everyone to make certain they add the wholesale license # when adding a customer and take a photo of the license to put with the customer in Adilas
4. Use - (dashes) when adding phone numbers ie: xxx-xxx-xxxx
5. Use Upper and Lower cases when adding Customers and creating invoices ie: John Smith...
6. Steve is working on google maps or some other mapping system for delivery routes
7. The Regional Manager will send a PO to the sales rep to let them know how many cases they have, sales rep needs to check and make certain they have the correct amount.
8. On the e-commerce piece a new customer will enter their zip code so the system can determine which sales rep it goes to based on zip codes. There will be a "verified" button to let the delivery person know to go to the store once the sale is processed.

AU 1673 Daily Tasks 6/27/2013   • Day three of the Logan Training class. We spent all morning talking about theory and concepts of adilas. Most of it was directed to one participant in particular. She kept asking questions and I kept giving her answers. It felt kind of like tennis. After lunch we went through settings, permissions, customers, flex grid, and then into accounting. We talked P&L, deposits, expenses, checks, etc. All over the place and a super-fast pace. Good stuff! 20 miles.
• Emails and tech support stuff. Lots of emails.
• Custom data upload for a client.
• Finished the upload.
• Small clean-up. Took off June training flyers.
