Shop 1979 Adilas Time 12/1/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Steve and Eric. Alan popped in for a bit as well. We worked with Steve this morning on some javascript stuff for his page. He did his first loops with javascript and we did some custom math stuff for him. He is learning and picking things up very quickly.

After that, Eric and I worked on the update and recalculate methods for the internal shopping cart. We got all the way done with the first round of stuff and started to get into some testing. We still have a ways to go, but we are making good and steady progress every day. Good stuff.

At the end of the day, Eric and I switched gears and added in a custom black box to the bulk cart labels page for printing PDF labels. We used the new custom option for creating mini access points. This allows us to create access points (data and logic portals) almost anywhere in the system on a per page basis. Super cool. I image we will be seeing more of this kind of stuff going forward. That sounds exciting.

Shop 1904 Russell Moore 12/1/2016   On a Zoom session with Russell. We looked at the developer's notebook project. We started getting into the project and found a small CSS bug dealing with the templates and how the headers and footers were pulled in. We spent the rest of the time looking in to the bug and following different avenues. Kinda stressful looking for a virtual ghost bug. We couldn't duplicate it locally but it was happening live if anything other than the classic CSS was used.

Shop 2033 Meeting with Danny and Steve 12/1/2016   On a Zoom session with Danny going over PDF labels. We worked on one label that was showing correctly and then printing wrongly. We couldn't get that one figure out either. We did make some progress but ended up leaving it for later.

I then had a bunch of emails, to do list stuff, and tech support that took up the remainder of the afternoon. Trying to get everything in place before leaving for the weekend.

Shop 2039 Adilas Time 12/5/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Steve. We went over a few of the topics and projects that are taking place. We did some light planning and then jumped into the code for the news and updates page. We are trying to make it so that the news and updates are somewhat industry specific in nature. Basically, we are adding a list of corporation id numbers that are in a certain industry so that only they get the relevant information and updates. It is interesting to see how much things are polarizing and breaking into subs.

Towards the end of the meeting, both Steve and I ended up on different phone calls. Trying to keep the different balls spinning.

Shop 2043 Calvin Time 12/5/2016   On the phone with Calvin. We were talking about a new mobile app that he will be creating. That project is still in the prep and planning phase. We then went into a conversation about his gmext (group mass texting) application and tool that he has built. Eventually, we would love to incorporate his notification and group text messaging application into our product. Lots of talk about options, billing ideas, and how to get them to play well together. Great conversation.

Shop 2068 Dave Forbis and Russell - Quote 12/6/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with both Dave Forbis and Russell. We went over a project called Campaign Rise. It is like a mini kickstarter type system (small time funding and fund raising). Basically small campaigns and getting funding mixed with the social aspects that they want and need. We looked at some of their preliminary sketches, Dave's design mock-ups, and their needs and ideas. We spent the whole 2 hours going through needs, ideas, options, and what would be involved in the custom wire job.

This project will end up mixing customers, users, invoices, quotes, items, elements of time, and flex grid tie-ins. Lots of interplay and fun relationships and special connections. It should be a fun project.

Shop 2040 Adilas Time 12/6/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Steve. We spent the whole time talking about ideas and future strategy stuff. We even bounced around adilas looking at reports, numbers, and small trends of what has been going on. That was fun.

We ended up on an Excel spreadsheet playing with numbers and such. Nothing official, just playing with ideas. See attached for the sheet that we were playing with. It is kinda random and has notes all over it. See the tab called projections and the tab called Sheet1 for where we were playing.

We kept going back to a quote by Shannon Moore about adilas - "The solution may need to be as creative and flexible as adilas is." We talked about employees, dependables, key players, dream it up as we go, make a plan, map it out, and setup the rules and cause and effects to allow things to play through (Steve related that to a game called marble drop - gravity fed with multiple cause and effect things).

We then talked about the adilas family and what that means and is. We talked about the independent helpers, the full time family, and the people who help found and/or build the company. We talked about ownership, compensation, commissions, and percentages of gross revenue. We are looking for people who are good workers and are loyal. We would love to say there are more founders and key players that have help to build the adilas platform. Let's let the people who want to play, come in and play.

We talked tons and tons about education, paid and non paid classes, certification levels, schedules, and venues for training. That could be big part of the business all by itself. We talked about getting Shannon some help with tech support and training. We talked about existing players and how we could cater to them and make a flexible plan for keeping them around and happily fed. We want those who want to play to be able to stay and play as long as they like.

We talked about some of the pains and knowledge that we have learned along the way. Decisions, good, bad, ugly, etc. We want to push the ball forward. At the same time, it is ok to let it keep going and/or growing slowly (organic growth). Keep dreaming, building, and taking the try storming approach. It is ok to make multiple attempts and circle back again and again. Good stuff.

We went over some numbers, ideas, and concepts of revenue sharing. We also talked about virtual adopting into the adilas family, requirements for being part of the family, and ideas on how to make things dynamic and flexible, yet still manageable and able to be evaluated. We even talked price tags and costs of what it would cost to get a really good lead developer/project manager person in place. Kind of a right hand guy for me and what I do.

Lots of fun ideas and playing with numbers, percentages, projections, and pay levels. We are looking to make and create a fun and interactive game-type pay structure. It will have a little bit of a loyalty points, active requirements, and compensation for effort put in to help make things better. We are talking a mix between time put in, contribution, efforts, team player, hourly rates, base level salaries, revenue sharing, virtual ownership, etc.

At the end of the session, Shawn Curtis, one of our developers popped in. I went over a few of the ideas and concepts with him. He mentioned that the profits are in the margins. Sometimes just tiny tweaks make it sing. Also, while I was talking with him, I was thinking that it might be good to keep building this process out over the next couple of years. Take our time.

We ended with the concept of planning and mapping things out. As a funny side note, we started to map things out back in 2010. That process opened up a ton of the things we are working on and building off of right now. I'd love to circle back around and make a master plan for the whole system. If there is a plan in place, than others can follow it and be a part of it going forward. Keep it open and flexible but defined enough (sufficient for your needs) so that it has some structure. Great session. As a note, the Excel file is attached if more info is needed.

Shop 1993 Russell time 12/6/2016   On a Zoom session with Russell. We went over some changes that I had made to his new AFB headers and footers. We then did some variable changes to help his pages. We also split one of the pages into multiple permission checks to allow lower level users options to access the page without it failing and/or prompting for the higher level permissions. We merged the new changes and pushed up new files to all servers. Along the way we also talked about some direction and upcoming options. Russell is doing great.

Shop 2036 Working with Steve - State API 12/6/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Steve. We talked about some of the other developments of the day and our thoughts on how things are working out. Good stuff. We then worked on a new page that takes a big number (24 characters or more) and increments that number a set number of times on the page. We had to split the numbers into different sections and pieces. We then had to loop over things to see where it broke and turned into a non numeric value (the original value was a mix of alpha/numeric characters). Kinda random and crazy. Anyways, working on incrementing what values we could.

We ran into problems with really big numbers and ColdFusion changing the numbers into scientific notation vs. a normal big integer value. We had to do some research online to get some ideas.

Shop 2074 Meeting with Dave 12/7/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Dave. We spent some time talking with Steve about an older GPS tracking project and being able to use it as a demo site. We have some interested clients but that project still needs some work to make it presentable. We almost finished it, but got pulled off of it before it got finished.

We then rolled into a session on the inventory check in/out project for a local company. Dave and I went through his plan and did a quote and started to put a proposal together for ideas and concepts. This will use inventory items, parent/child relationships, elements of time, customers, and flex grid tie-ins. We may also work on the time sub assignments for this project. Cool stuff (rentals and reservations).

Shop 2042 Adilas Time 12/8/2016   Started off the day doing some clean-up and recording notes. I then started working on some new payroll changes from Shawn Curtis. Eric logged on to the GoToMeeting session and I helped him with some custom logic access points on a page that prints bulk PDF shopping cart labels. We got that finished and then pushed up the files to all servers.

Shawn jumped on the GoToMeeting session from 11:30 to 1:30 pm. We started out merging files and working through payroll pages. We then switched gears and started talking about the future for time clocks, project time clocks, payroll tools, HR tools, and tracking sub payroll (tied to time). We also talked about recording mileage. I took a bunch of post-it notes worth of notes and scribbles. Here is what I got.

- On elements of time, Shawn often records a location (for tax and mileage purposes) and what the task or project is.

- Shawn would love to build a time clock feature that tracks mileage and is super easy to use. Kinda like Bryan's little time clock app.

- Allow them to use a mini time clock feature - super simple and scaled back. Any special edits and/or other options would need to be done inside of the normal system.

- Allow for departmental or department based logins and time clock options. This could be normal payroll clock in/outs and/or elements of time and project based clock in/outs.

- Make sure and look at both Russell's time clock mock-up as well as Bryan's little time clock app. Maybe look at Toggle and even older adilas notes and ideas. Keep it simple. As a side note, this need has existed for years. If we think back, time cards and time clock stuff came right after stock/units back in the early 2000's (2002-2003 ish). There is still a need even today for more tools like this.

- Add a small mileage tracker that could be connected to elements of time. It might be nice to either be used as a standalone project and/or an app that can be connected to elements of time. Make the connection to elements of time optional.

- We need to allow settings per person for what projects to show up and how to sort and show those simple selection options.

- Show the amount of time that has lapsed...

- Use simple start and stop buttons.

- On the mileage subs of time, tie to an employee name (payee id). That will make it searchable later on.

- help search by person and show totals based off of a date range and/or a project selection. Basically, allow for some advanced search options for the mileage reports.

- One of the main goals is to limit the number of clicks that a user has to make to get something done. Keep it super simple. Maybe even its own interface with limited functionality.

- Simple buttons to clock in and clock out... We do all of the mapping and logic behind the scenes.

- Setup a mini skin or something like it. Allow for departmental clock in/outs, single payroll clock in/outs, project clock in/outs, and mileage options. Make all of these pieces toggle on/off options that could play into the same interface if needed. Think settings and dynamic point and click setup.

- Make a number of small and simple tasks. Use the power of adilas but make it look super simple. We could do this for all kinds of features and functions. This might be worth exploring and assigning small teams to build out certain parts and/or sections.

- Make the look and feel super customizable (colors, placements, buttons, features, etc.).

- What about sub flags and tags... That section is brand new and could help with things like sub phases, sub locations, or even different departmental levels for project time (x department charges $50 per hour and y department charges $35 per hour, etc.). That could be pretty cool to help track different rates.

- Along with the comment on sub tags and flags... What about holding amouts, time sums (math on the start and end times), and even some billing and/or invoice options. That would be really cool.

- On the mileage settings as a sub of time, setup a preset matrix so that you could enter common destinations and/or sub locations. For example, say I always want to record mileage from my house to the shop/office or from my house to my parent's house. It would be really cool if we could preset these values as round trip and/or one ways. This could be based from work, from home, from wherever, as long as it is consistent.

- The matrix of sub locations and/or preset mileage settings could even have fields like: mileage alias name (generally what do you want to call it), a from location, a to location, one way mileage (value), round trip mileage (value), sort values (manual sorting option), and a status (active/show or inactive/hidden). These settings could be on a per person basis or on a corp-wide basis. Maybe even use JSON storage for the settings.

- What about GPS stuff? We have the fields to hold those values. What if we used an app and got where are you? Where are you going? Where are you now?

- What if we had full GPS stuff being tracked for super cheap. Think of a small phone app or something like that. Maybe a small app that piggy backs on a phone or mobile device and then used an API to talk to adilas. That would be pretty cool.

- We could add up mileage, do point to point mileage, use full GPS stuff, or just allow for user entry into an open mileage field. It could be super techy or crazy simple. Lots of options.

- What about billable hours? We already allow for sub dates and times to be pulled into invoicing. This has existed since 2011. What is the next level? What if we had ways of flagging things with some kind of invoice status and/or billing info. What invoice, is it billable, not billable, has it been billed, does it need to be billed, what is the rate, etc. Think of the next level. We could expand sub dates and times or we could build it into sub flags and tags stuff.

- As Shawn was talking, I had the idea, what about cross corp billable hours. Say one company is working on a project for another company. Wouldn't it be cool if a small mini channel and/or tunnel could be made to bridge one corp to another corp. Basically, a user logs in to their corp and is able to make a small time clock record in another corps project. This would have to be permissioned, allowed, agreeded upon, and API socket based connection. Still, that would be pretty cool.

- Think app enabled functionality. Think mini skins and/or standalone mini mobile apps.

- Be able to quickly switch tasks, projects, etc. Minimal number of clicks. There may need to be a different admin page, but the main interface could be quick and fast.

- Shawn wanted to make simple setup wizards to help do the settings and management stuff (admin/manger side). Easy to use and virtually hold your hand through the process.

- What about the sub payroll functions and features. That was planned out lightly back in 2011 but has not yet been fully built out. The database tables exist, the ideas and concepts exist, but it has not yet been built out. Maybe it is time. We need to allow these new apps and settings to go all the way out to sub payroll. This could be for employee time clocks and/or project time clocks. Tie things up all the way along.

- We will need an admin and payroll dashboard of sorts. This is where an admin and/or manager could get their reports and check on things. Quick reports, easy access, permissioned, and able to see and get to reports and stats quickly.

- What about accruing payroll. Currently, that is somewhat hard to put your finger on. By accruing, I'm meaning what is building or amounting in the background. Imagine being able to see what hours and bills are mounting before they hit. Instead of a developer or another employee submitting a huge bill that you didn't know about, you could watch things grow as they happen. Think, what will need to be paid and/or what is value of project X or Y.

- Along with accruing payroll and such... It might be nice to go into the smaller entries and do some math on them and store those values in the database. You could then pull quicker reports vs. calculating hours, minutes, and seconds on the fly. That can be a pain. Look into this as an option to help speed things up.

- Take what we have already got and put it together in a new skin or interface or mini package of sorts. Most of the underlying pieces are already done. It just needs to be combined and wrapped up together in a cute little sellable, presentable package.

- What about other HR (human resources) tools? Branch out a bit and think and/or ask what people need. People will tell you if you ask the right questions.

- Map it out and then pitch it as a proposal. Think of the bigger picture. It might also help to think of both short term and long term options.

- Dream it up, we'll help you wire it up!

Shop 2079 Nav menu work 12/8/2016   Let's go over how to get good quality images for those thumbnails on Steve's project.

Medium Thumbnails:
they have the phrase med_ to start with. Their size is 150 _w x 92 _h (pixels)

Small Thumbnails:
they have the prhase sm_ to start with. Their size is 50 _w x 31 _h (pixels)

Small naming rules:
If the main page is in top_secret/secure - nothing special. Say the page is called my_page.cfm. The names would be: med_my_page.gif and sm_my_page.gif. They need to be stored in the top_secret/images/pages folder.

If the main page is in the top_secret/custom folder - we need to add the word custom into the page name. For example: med_custom_my_page.gif or sm_custom_my_page.gif

Tip: I would recommend that you make the screen full size (F11 key) to get the print screen.

Shop 2047 Adilas Time 12/12/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Steve. We talked about direction and where we want to head in the coming months. We also looked over the adilas YouTube media/content player, we setup a cannabis specific site (just the folders and rough structure), and we also talked about training events.

Steve would like us to strip off the code from the https://data0.adilas.biz/top_secret/community_funded_projects.cfm page and start being able to collect monies to help with daily training events. We also talked about how my dad volunteered to find us venues for our training classes.

Shannon got on the call. We talked about some progress on the videos that she, Dave Forbis, Russell, and Chris Johnnie. Shannon showed us the link to the current google drive videos. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B7QkXlJmb-PSeGRMZF9jbG10ZEE

We talked about the difference between in-person vs. webinar (web based training). We are seeing the need for the live sessions (they enjoy the connection with the people). Who, where, when? We need to offer the live events, even if they aren't fully attended.

Build out the adilas university video library and the user guide. Make it easy to use and help train the trainers there. One of the unknown values is how do you help someone to stay on and keep going. Shannon mentioned Dave Forbis and Shari O. as up and coming helpers for tech support stuff. Also, Nick and Alan (both developers do have some great teaching skills). I could also be more a consultant and trainer type person.

One of the major challenged is how fast things change. We shoot a video or write a help file and then things change. How do you keep up? What a good question...

We have some great users... that is good and bad. We also don't have any standard certifications and/or train the trainer type stuff. Some of these people have some major skills but might be liabilities on the other hand.

What about the adilas marketplace and the adilas university? We may be going too fast for our own good. What would happen if we totally slowed down and sell what we have? We build and build but are somewhat unable to slow down and tell people what we have to offer. What is the master plan? Do we already have it written down but just need to follow it or do we need to redefine it?

We are seeing a change in the way that the system flows... We are getting more API socket calls, we are getting shortcuts, we are seeing more black box stuff, more developer specific code. We need to tell Shannon and Shari O. Who is going to do this new training? We may need to recruit who made it to help do the training. Make that part of the process. Slow things down a bit.

The developer's notebook is kinda splitting now as well. We have elements of time in adilas university, adilas, and in the adilas shop section. How are we going to bring all of that together. We have things fracturing and splitting all around us. That is part of the game, we need to allow and accept that. How are we going to deal with that?

Sustainable pace - slow and steady wins the race. Maybe keep looking at the process and judge the pace and needs accordingly. People have the potential to let you down. The only person we can truly trust is God. We can then give trust to other people. Make him your main stable anchor and then extend to others. If all else fails, then the sure anchor will still hold fast.

I would rather be a trusting person and then be betrayed vs. not being a trusting person from the get go. Quote from Shannon who got it from an apostle (lightly tweaked). We are looking for a loyalty and commitment level of sorts. We do have to be picky. It comes down to a balance and a relationship. Take your time and start to build from there. Relationships take time. That is ok, build it everyday. We make the choices and strengthen and exercise those choices everyday.

Shop 2048 Adilas Time 12/13/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Eric and Steve. Eric and I were working on the new shopping cart methods and converting in-line code into standard methods that we could use over and over again. We spent most of the session working and testing the update cart line item functions. We also cascaded some of the code to other pages. Trying to standardize things.

Shop 2677 Virtual Post-It Note 12/13/2016   - Units of measure might need a count or quantity option as well as a weight option. We many need both fields to be able to cross over and play together. This is almost conversion stuff.

- What about watcher and feeders? At what point do we take transactional data and make it more standard? What is really needed as a bigger endpoint or final goal. Sometimes if we are deep in the transactional data, we may not see the end.

Shop 1995 Russell time 12/13/2016   Started out with some emails and tech support calls. Found a bug in the invoice sales report. The bug was reported by Charles Lawhon's Trailer world (long-time client). Fixed the bug and pushed up the new file to all servers.

Started to work more on Shawn's payroll stuff.

2:45 - 3:30 pm - Meeting with Russell. On a Zoom session. We changed the name of the AFB Theme (new headers, footers, and custom CSS) to snow owl. We added some light validation and made some small look and feel changes. We then pushed up the files to all servers. Russell was also able to show me some new videos and how he is using adilas to run his own things. Pretty cool.

Shop 2038 Working with Steve - State API 12/13/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Steve. We started out by having a couple outside developers and 3rd party vendors on the call. We talked about how we could add some custom hooks for their cash management products. Good call with some great options.

We then jumped into an adilas work session and Steve and I chatted about some of the current projects and where we want things to go. Good conversation. We also talked about AFB (adilas for business) and how we wanted to incorporate them and their products. Those guys are making some waves. Pretty cool.

Shop 1059 Adilas Time 12/14/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Steve, Eric, and Nick. We spent the first hour looking over the data 3 server and trying to see if we could see any problems and/or slow down areas. We did see some customer queue issues with slow queries and waiting for table locks.

After that, Eric and I worked on the convert parent to child pages and logic for the cart. We read over the pages we did a couple weeks ago and then got back into the swing of things. We added some new logic to swap cart line items and also to remove and add new line items. It is getting closer.

Shop 2092 payment flow question 12/15/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Bryan. We started out checking on some outstanding payments and looking at some numbers that are owed to different parties. After that, we rolled into a light intro and explanation of 3 of the current projects that are going on. I was drawing and explaining and Bryan was taking notes and getting screen captures. We covered quite a bit of ground and got Bryan up to date on those projects. It has been helping that Bryan has started to take his own notes and virtually record some of our meetings. I think that help things stick.

Shop 1996 Russell time 12/15/2016   On a Zoom meeting with Russell for the first part. Then on a GoToMeeting session with Steve and Russell at the end. Russell and I started out and made some small changes to his snow owl theme. We had a reported bug and went in and fixed it. After that, we did a brainstorming session on what changes might need to be done on the AFB theme - snow owl. That led into a conversation about options, projects, potential, and even profit sharing and numbers. See attached for a couple of files that we were using to talk numbers and values.

Around 3:30 pm, we switched from Zoom to GoToMeeting to bring Steve into things. We allowed Russell to show some of his current and upcoming projects. We then talked some potential and options. More brainstorming and running scenarios. We talked quite a bit about possible mergers, profit sharing, commissions, and other models. We also went over plans and what that means on both sides of the equation. Really good sessions with lots of new developments on both sides.

After the virtual meetings, Russell called and we chatted on the phone for about half an hour. Just clarifying things and building each other up on vision and direction stuff.

Shop 2054 Adilas Time 12/19/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Bryan and Steve. I was helping them with their different projects. We then got on a conference call with the C4Ever (cash handling) guys. We pitched them a 3rd party solution option where they would have more control and a more stable product than what they were hoping to do. Good call.

Sadly, I have a tendency to take over the conversation and not let the person in charge of the project (development or code stuff) talk very much. I was kinda talking for him and asking questions. Anyways, it will all work out. Just wanted to note that I tend to take over sometimes.

Shop 2093 Client Meeting 12/19/2016   Went into town to meet with Dave and Autumn to go over details for the Campaign Rise project. Dave is the project manager and Autumn is the wife of the entrepreneur/business owner.

I met Dave and then we went over to Autumn's home. We chatted and Dave mostly ran the meeting. I chimed in where needed but most of it was between he and Autumn. We talked about a couple of easy fixes and some that were volume (number of requests and/or tasks) that might be a problem. We decided to take the step by step approach vs. fixing everything right at the first.

If we get the job, it should be good one. Lots of moving pieces and the company needs customers, invoices, elements of time, media/content, and tons of wiring in between to make it all happen. Basically, it is a campaign funding process and service that shows event and campaign details. It also allows for people to virtually follow, sign-up, and donate monies on an ongoing basis to help the causes and/or campaigns get funded. Lots of social feeds and ways to manage their own data and flow.

I think it is fun to see them be a part of the system now without any extra strings attached. That is pretty cool.

Steve reported on where he was at and we helped him a little bit here and there with some simple questions.

After that, Eric and I jumped in and finished testing the convert parent to child pages. We then started to merge and cascade the code to other custom cart pages. After merging, we tested locally and I gave Steve a demo of the new changes. We decided that we would fix one more section before pushing things live. Good session.

We also talked about possible overtime per day calculations, logic, and database columns to store the information. Calvin is working with a client that is looking to use the employee time clocks in a deeper more global look for predicting employee to revenue (sales) type models. Good stuff.

We also spent some time talking about current and upcoming projects that are circling around. Good work session. Making progress everyday.

Shop 2099 Working with Shawn 12/22/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Shawn. Going over his calculations for Maryland. Shawn figured out a way to get within a couple dollars (close enough) by doing some reverse/special math stuff. Pretty cool.

I also paid some bills and made some small tweaks to the elements of time homepage. I added options to see and show daily details right from the calendar view. Also spent some time recording notes.

Shop 2117 Updating the logic on the mixed barcode search page 12/22/2016   Up late working on fixing the mixed barcode search page. It had two known problems. One was dealing with showing the correct parent/child relationships and being able to add sub inventory directly to the cart. The other major issue was dealing with the barcode scan logic for the page. We had updated some other pages, but this one was still using older logic.

Anyways, we fixed both sections and tested and uploaded new code to all servers. Up late trying to get things done before the busy Christmas weekend.

Shop 2077 General & working with Shawn 12/26/2016   Working with Shawn on a GoToMeeting session on the customer queue project. We did some drawings, made some lists, chatted and even did some light code work and planning. The customer queue is a virtual waiting room feature of sorts (who is next in line?). We talked about project goals, ideas, and even how we could go about getting things done.

Shawn took some notes and I tried to give him the ideas and thoughts that were running through my head. We spent about 2 hours on the details of that project. I passed him over some code samples and we are going to meet tomorrow morning to go over things again.

I am trying to give him space to do things how he wants them yet still make sure that they get done correctly. I'm trying to focus more on results and outcome vs. behavior and process to get to the goal. I sometime struggle with that and tend to push people in the way that works for me. That could be both good and bad. Anyways, I'm on purpose trying and experimenting with how things work best for each developer and how they like to get instructions and direction.

After working on that project, I switched gears and started recording older notes on elements of time in the shop. Transferring notes from old post-it note files into digital notes. There sure is a lot of fun things going on. I'm hoping to catch and record the story as it unfolds and develops. Good stuff.

Shop 2062 Adilas Time 12/27/2016   GoToMeeting session. Working with Steve on the scan QR codes page. Added some new access points and worked through some of the logic. We then went into a big brainstorming session dealing with mini conversions and how to keep things really simple. Steve was pitching ideas of using sub attributes (numeric values) to help with the conversion stuff. I took some notes and we drew some sketches and talked through some things.

These are just some random notes:
- Mini conversions... this is coming hard and fast.

- Use the sub attributes and allow the numeric attributes to be of type "conversion" (this would be new). Similar to how the text fields could be "text" or "select". We could then add to the defaults for numeric as the cross-over or unit of measure values.

- QR code is a small mini database - able to hold lots of data.

- See the scan_qr_code_interface_action.cfm for some code stuff.

Shop 2124 State API 12/28/2016   GoToMeeting session. Working with Steve and Nick on state API connections. I then got put on a sub project of tracking down the part status and making it more user friendly for reports and drill-downs. We ended up fixing close to 20 files that dealt with the part status and being able to sort and filter by all active (subs and parents), only active parent items, active subs only, and inactive items. This little exercise lead us to the balance sheet. We started looking into the logic and decided we would tackle it later. The balance sheet is a huge project that will need some loving here soon. All in good time.

I ended up logging into the data 4 server and did some light clean-up on the customer queue stuff. I deleted almost 500,000+ older records to help it run faster and smoother. We did a back-up and then started killing older records. We are hoping that will help speed things up on that server.

I then called and chatted with Shawn and setup some reoccurring elements of time for some sessions and developer meeting times.

Shop 2126 customer facing 12/29/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Bryan. We were going over a new project to add some new search features to the customer queue. Basically, a client wants to get ages and time frames between the different stages (start, service, finish). They then want to run some analyst on those time frames and ages and see stats such as max, min, average, trending, and patterns.

We went over the project and what would be involved. We determined that we would need some new numeric database fields, update all older records (calculate and store the values for look-up), build out the report, and add new search options. We talked about some of the details as well. Good little session.

Shop 2000 Russell time 12/29/2016   On a Zoom session with Russell. We spent the whole time going over Russell's plan for the blog. We over drawings, technical pieces, and even database design options. Russell is getting better and better at planning some of the bigger projects. I'm excited for him and to see how things turn out. I'm really proud of him for doing so much planning and solving things on paper before we go to code. That is huge.

A couple of other things of interest were... customer permission options, extending the any assignment options to include a variable/value pair to help flag and tag things as needed. We also talked a ton about settings and permissions and how they play together. We are seeing more and more needs for basic pages (defaults and generics), custom pages, custom page sets (mini apps or mini sets), and full on themes (niche specific needs, flow, and functions).
