Shop 1950 Phone call with Steve 11/1/2016   On a phone call with Steve going over plans, projects, developers, our team, key players and their strengths and weaknesses, company vision, direction, and funds. Good talk and open conversation. We bounced from subject to subject and made some great progress. We decided to pull out some more money from our business line of credit and distribute it as needed. We are trying to catch-up and prep for the next wave of needs and requirements. Good stuff.

Shop 1832 Adilas Time 11/1/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Steve, Alan, and Eric Tauer. We started out by letting Alan show us his progress on the state API connections he is working on. Eric then joined and he and I did another brainstorming session on the new cart functionality of converting a parent line item into one or more child inventory items within the shopping cart. See attached for some more notes (also expanded some of the older notes from last Thursday). Steve participated in the brainstorming session and brought some good ideas to the table. He is one of the key players that is literally on site with some of clients. Great asset.

Shop 1947 Account Balance info 11/1/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Bryan. Steve, Bryan and I were on together for the first half an hour. We were talking with Bryan about project management and some general suggestions on how to treat things going forward. We talked about a project that is a problem. The client is thinking one thing and we delivered another. There is a communication breakdown currently and we are trying to work through things to come to a good situation for all parties. Anyways, we spent half an hour talking about options and what we can do to help each other.

Steve was telling Bryan that if we pull the client's custom code that it would affect multiple other people. It would affect Bryan in that he wouldn't get paid, we would lose up to 3 accounts (monthly revenue) and the consultant/rep would lose the commission. We also listened to Bryan's side of what was going on. Most likely this will take Steve and/or my self to help step in and make things good to go.

Anyways, the last half of the session was just Bryan and I. We were working more on some custom mappings and trying to detail out a custom interface that Bryan is working on. It is amazing how deep some of the existing pieces are. There is no way we could expect someone to just figure things out without some guidance and direction. Good session.

-Secure the server_setup.cfm page it is currently in the normal top_secret folder and doesn't require a valid login and/or permission check.

-Bryan's deal is bigger than him - multiple accounts, reps, training, ect,

-You need to do your own project management.

Shop 1791 Phone call with Dave 11/1/2016   On a phone call with Dave going over funds, options, and some project management things. Steve and I are going to be helping Dave transition over from the shop project manager to more of a sales rep/consultant type roll. He will still be doing project management but more for his direct clients and contacts.

Trying to change things up. I think it will be good for all parties. Dave has been very patient and has allowed us to delay payment to him while we were building and trying to get caught up over the last six months to a year. That has been a huge help to us. Thanks Dave!

Shop 1895 Russell Moore 11/1/2016   On a longer Zoom session with Russell today. We had fun talking about some new ideas and direction. Russell and Chris Johnnie are thinking about going more into the PHP (different server-side scripting environment) for some of their stuff. We had some good talks and drew lots of pictures on the screen about different options.

Russell and I then worked on two big merges and pushing code up and live. Lots of checking and looking at code and such. We got things synced up and up to date. Lots of new code for the AFB (adilas for business) CSS and header/footer options. Russell has been working on that for a couple of months.

We also merged in some code to help with auto populating the sub special flags and tags add-on's for elements of time. That helps us pre-flag and pre-tag different elements to help with custom searches and new options for elements of time. We got everything merged and pushed to all servers. We then did some live testing of the new pages and features.

Shop 1053 Adilas Time 11/2/2016   On a GoToMeeting session. Eric and I were working on starting to convert a parent line item into a sub or child inventory line item. We spent most of the morning following and cascading a part_status value to the different pages. This will allow us to key off of this status and prompt and/or show what is needed. Most of these changes were done to existing frameworks and pages. The other guys were working on their own projects.

Shop 1951 Custom Projects 11/2/2016   Got a call from Shannon about a bug on a new CSS (cascading style sheet) page for a preset called pick a color (system look and feel). I fixed the bug and pushed up files and folders. I then did some tech support, emails, and phone calls with a merchant processing guys and Chris Johnnie who was introducing us and making the connection.

Shop 1938 Black Box Project 11/2/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Nick. We were working on the system-wide black box project. Lots of merging code for view cart pages (full takeovers, custom body pages, and tons of top mini black boxes for the cart). We started into a big clean-up and prep session for a big merge into the master branch. We have 200+ files and multiple projects are all coming together at once. Kinda crazy. Big project as far as coordinating what goes where and what the order needs to be.

Shop 1948 Alan Time 11/2/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Alan. We spent the first half an hour talking about merchant processing and some possible new credit card gateways that we want to checkout and possibly integrate with. We are looking for some quicker solutions that don't require the merchant to spend hours and hours getting the merchant processing guys their reports and getting all of the paperwork and underwriting things done. It can be pretty time consuming to get up and going.

We then got in and did a bigger merge project on the transactional Metrc state API socket connections that Alan is helping Steve with. We looked over code and did some merging with the master code branch. Alan was doing the merging and code writing and I was helping and being the second pair of eyes. Good stuff.

Shop 1833 Adilas Time 11/3/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Eric working on the convert parent line item to child line item page for the cart. Working more on the new page logic and actually building it out. Lots of testing and going back and forth between the brainstorming doc and the actual code page and logic. Making some great progress.

About 11:15 am, we switched gears and Eric had to take off for a doctor's appointment. I then flipped over and started working on emails, text messages, and recording deposits. We got in a new loan amount from Kabbage to use to help get caught up and prep for some upcoming expenses.

Shop 1955 GDA formating 11/3/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Bryan. We did some light graphic work (thumbnails for custom reports for the chooser page) and then went right into some more details on the ICS reporting project. Part of the project is pulling special data, making .csv files, and auto FTPing them to the correct location (remote banking servers). We did some project management and started to define where the data was coming from. Going over things field by field and what joins and tables were involved. Some of these reports take a lot of explaining for the developers to know where things are coming from. Lots of moving pieces.

I also gave Nick some ideas and direction on other projects if he needs to switch gears or just needs a change of pace.

Shop 1961 Talking with Dave Forbis 11/3/2016   Dave Forbis came over to get a check and talk about a couple of projects and ideas. We went over some of his marketing efforts and talked about some other projects that he is working on. I'm trying to get Dave to project manage his own projects and let the developer's do some of their own project management. We went over some new and old wire jobs (custom code and using existing tools and functions as needed in a custom way). We also looked up a bug on the auto add sub flags and tags to main elements of time.

Dave is getting some more jobs that need custom wiring and diverse logic and flow options. Good stuff. It just takes time to think it out and then make it happen. Also as a side note, we are seeing more and more heat and need for the adilas "any scheduler" which includes rentals, reservations, and project or task tracking options. That will be fun.

Dave stayed for dinner and he and my kids were somewhat playing a battle of wits at the table and after dinner while cleaning up. Good evening.

Shop 1054 Adilas Time 11/9/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Nick and Eric and Josh (a client). We looked into the barcode issue with different quick cart searches. We talked about expanding functionality and/or change some wording as to what is being done. We did some light work and made some notes on what needs to be expanded and tightened up.

Nick and I then worked on some top mini gram control bugs and issues. We had to fix 5 different files that didn't allow for transfer invoices based on their code.

The last half of the meeting was back on the project that Eric and I were working on. We built out some more options on the convert parent to child inventory line item swap or conversion page. Working through the logic and making notes on what still needs to be done. Good session.

Shop 1965 Calvin Time 11/9/2016   On a phone call and then a Zoom session with Calvin. We talked election and politics for a bit and then got into a demo. Calvin has been working on a project that builds a 2D barcode (a QR code or quick reference code barcode) and puts it dynamically on an Adobe PDF document. He showed me the code and we ran a number of samples.

He then showed me his file monitoring stuff that he did for a client. Basically, he built a Windows service that watches certain file folders for updates, new files, and changes to files on the remote server. If something changes, it emails the client to let them know. Basically, it is a civil way of spying on us (the adilas.biz developers) and seeing when we push new files and code to the server. That is ok with me, the client paid for it and it keeps Calvin working on adilas projects. Good stuff.

Most of the work today was tightening up the csv files and making sure that the queries and variables were good and tight. Great session.

Shop 1836 Adilas Time 11/10/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Alan, Steve, Nick, and Eric. The meeting started out with Alan reporting on some of his API projects. We then helped both Steve and Alan with their joint project (state API connection stuff). We also spent a little bit of time talking about a current and future need to help sew different systems together. I drew some models and we talked about the growing need to interlace and virtually sew different systems together to help make things happen. We talked about our strategic placement of the external alternate id numbers in all of the main player tables and how at some point we may need to get into an application flex grid level to help mix and blend and sew things together. More and more needs are still coming.

After that, Eric and I worked on the convert parent to child inventory projects. We advanced the ball for a ways and hit a virtual wall of sorts. The wall was noodle coded logic that was spread from page to page in a certain flow vs. a centralized method or function to handle the logic. We had numerous conversations and decided that we would take the time and convert the page logic into functions. This will be a slight side track but will help speed up this and future projects.

As a side note, I did take a call from Calvin during this session.

Shop 1898 Russell Moore 11/10/2016   On a Zoom session with Russell. He showed me the latest and greatest pieces to the giant puzzle called Adilas... :) He showed me some new code that deals with the HTML editors and how that all works. We then did a merge session and did about 20 files and merged them into master. While we worked, we just talked and chatted. Fairly casual session other then we were just working through things one page at a time. Russell is doing great and I'm trying hard to let him know that we appreciate his vision and hard work. He is kinda out in front pioneering new roads and avenues. It is fun to see what he comes up with. His skills are also improving and he is getting better and better and quicker and quicker. Good stuff.

Shop 1982 Working with Steve 11/10/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Steve. We spent most of the session working on a page that takes state API data and then allows the user to fill out a small form inside of Adilas to add the inventory items. Most of our session was on two error/information messages. One was to help add the item place holder, if it didn't exists. And the other one was dealing with inactive items and how to reactivate them mid stream in the middle of the process. Good session and making progress.

Russell did a great job and the people on the Zoom session had a good response to what they were seeing. Lots of potential for what they are doing. Great look and feel with tons of custom options.

We also spent some time looking into the data 3 server. It seems to be having problems with the customer queue database table. We watched the server, the I/O read/writes, and the slow queries on the actual server.

Shop 2009 Look at data 3 server 11/17/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Steve looking at the data 3 server. We backed up the customer queue table and then went in and looked at who had tons of records. We got rid of over a quarter of a million records. If we need them back, we have the full update. Anyways, our hope is to get the server up and spinning better and faster.

While we were on the session, we talked about how to help standardize the servers, the developers, the API socket calls, the auto includes, and the reliance on outside 3rd party javascript and CSS libraries. It gets kinda crazy trying to coordinate all of the pieces.

Shop 1018 Brandon out of the office all day 11/18/2016   Went on a hike up Maple Canyon, up in Idaho with my dad and a friend. It was 15-20 degrees outside with about 2-3 inches of snow on the ground. I then went shopping with my wife and little daughter. As a side note, I am amazed at the human spirit and what it can do and what it does. Amazing.

Shop 2016 General 11/18/2016   Emails, phone calls, and helping Shannon with some quotes and tech support things. Working on some small code fixes and going over post-it notes and trying to clean-up my desk area.

Did a custom project on the add/edit PO page for company. They wanted to hide a couple of fields and limit some of the drop-down options (small black box project). I also did some light debugging on a sub inventory template page. The issue ended up being a small piece of validation that was looking for numbers greater than one. We changed some code to look for id's greater than 0 and it worked great. Amazing how small of margin some of the pages function on. Good session.

Shop 1840 Adilas Time 11/21/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Nick, Steve, and Eric. We had to fix a couple sub inventory pieces on the data 3 serves. Eric and I then worked on building out the shopping cart functions and methods for the cart logic. This is our current internal project. The final goal is to help with the convert parent inventory line items to child line items section. This is kinda building up the underlying logic before plowing ahead. It is all kinda interrelated anyways.

Shop 2011 ftp check 11/21/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Bryan. Most of it was spent going over finances and ideas on who owns the Adilas Shop name and how to distinguish between Bryan's personal invoices vs. shop invoices and shop finances. We then started into the FTP check. We ran out of time to finish that discussion.

Shop 1971 Calvin Time 11/21/2016   On a Zoom session with Calvin. We were working through the adilas 3rd party API socket connections for Emerald Fields. We already had an API that was getting some sub inventory results. We worked on adding more details and data to the existing call. Lots of mixing and matching and sewing things together.

Shop 2010 Code Sign-off 11/21/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Alan. We were looking at his code for some new Metrc transactional API pushes (info sent per new invoice that gets created). We went through a couple of pages and merged the code in with the master branch. We did not push it because it still needed some testing done on it. Crazy to see how much API stuff is coming through the doors and how many different servers we have to play with. It is pretty wild.

As a side note, this project has some multi-threading aspects where Alan is running normal logic on one thread and then the external API socket calls on another thread. This is one of the first multi-threaded projects that we have run into.

Shop 1841 Adilas Time 11/22/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Eric, Steve, and Alan. We did some more testing on the new logic functions for the cart. Still working on breaking out in-line code for the cart into new methods. Started into some deeper testing.

I had to take off early to go to a doctor's appointment. After I left, Steve and Alan worked on some state API socket stuff.

Shop 2013 ftp check 11/22/2016   On a phone call with Bryan. We went over some of the needs for clients to be able to name their fields, determine display options, and virtually show/hide the fields that were needed. We are seeing people wanting to mix standard with custom and make things follow their needs and flow. This could be adding things and/or taking things away. Basically cutting the number of clicks to get something done (wire jobs).

After our phone call, Bryan came over to my house to get a couple of checks. While he was over, we looked more into the custom code we did for Beaver Mountain and the add limited flex grid settings and functionality. Lots of interest in these dynamic display options. This has been building for years now. Interesting to see how it coming back around.

Shop 2020 Ideas for customer permissions 11/22/2016   These ideas came from Russell Moore on 11/22/16. Basically, Russell was proposing an idea of adding simple numbers between 1-10 to help grant access to clients and what they could get at. Most of the permissions are for payee/users (people who work for a company or work inside the system). Russell had some ideas for people who work outside the company and/or customers or clients.

He had the idea of the simple numbering options and then also a simple password type system. Basically, each entry (time, projects, invoices, media/content, etc.) has an id number and could contain a small password. The customer/clients could then be assigned a password access or tie-in to help us know who has access to what. Anyways, without getting too deep, it was a simple 1-10 numeric value and a simple password field that we could key off of.

As a small side note, the adilas help files have an id and a password for every entry. Without the correct combo of both the password and the id, the correct help file will not show up. That is super simple, yet it provides enough security to protect what we are trying to protect. Good stuff. Keep thinking super simple. I love it.

Shop 1972 Calvin Time 11/22/2016   On a Zoom session with Calvin. We finished up the new sub inventory API socket stuff for his client. We tested things and then pushed up new code for testing. Good session. It is fun to work with Calvin and bounce off of his computer and code knowledge and mix it with my knowledge of the adilas system and how things work together. Good combo.

Shop 1902 Russell Moore 11/22/2016   On a Zoom session with Russell. We started out the session making some small changes to customer logs and elements of time. We added and fixed some code that allows for a more robust HTML editor right from inside subs of time and customer log notes. Good stuff and super cool. We merged and tested the new changes.

After that, Russell took over and gave me a good demo on where they are headed with the project manager, new AFB theme, and options for blogs and mini blogs. Russell and Chris are working tons on the display side of things. They are taking existing tools and really tweaking them out. The functionality is awesome and it has a very modern flair (look and feel). We went over tons of ideas, options, numbers, etc. They (Chris and Russell) have done a great job pitching the potential and making the interest levels get higher, even before building and/or jumping into the full projects. They are actually marketing the ideas and concepts and then building them. It is really fun to watch and be a part of that.

They both get an at-a-boy from me and Steve. Anyways, the last hour was just a tour of concepts and how they can fill in the needs of what is going on and actually happening. Great vision.

This deals with updating cart line items, recalculating taxes, recalculating discounts, and such. We are working on breaking out in-line code for the cart into new functions and methods. Today was mostly just a breaking apart some of the older code day. We are trying to get the code organized and lightly following a small mini plan that we made up. Good work session.

Shop 2022 Code sign off 11/23/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Bryan. We went over his code on his local box and then we merged it into the master branch. Light testing and debugging and pushed code to all servers. This code sign-off was for a 3rd party solution that automatically turned on a couple adilas API sockets from a single button click. We auto populate the settings, usernames, passwords, and other assignment settings. It is interesting how a number of the current projects are simply speeding up existing processes and/or linking and wiring things together to save time and make things easier.

Shop 1843 Adilas Time 11/28/2016   On a GoToMeeting with Steve and Nick. We did a little bit of catching up and then rolled into a session helping Steve. He was working on a new add inventory section that compares a state API feed to the adilas data. The new process requires us to do some internal mappings between our items (items in adilas) and items from the state system. Steve and I went line by line and started working through the data. As we were doing that, Nick was working on new black box code and pages.

Shop 2024 bug 11/29/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Bryan. We were looking into a small custom cart bug. After looking for a while, we found that it was a path problem. Bryan was fixing the page then it got uploaded into the wrong folder. We would then run it again and nothing would happen (no new changes). Once we uploaded it to the right spot, all was well and worked great.

Shop 2025 inventory 11/29/2016   On a GoToMeeting session with Bryan. We were looking into ways to pull quick inventory quantity reports. We built some simple queries and then did some testing. Bryan needed queries that pulled full inventory counts and other queries that only pulled usage or sold items for a specific time period. The goal will be to show current inventory levels and then forcast and/or trend what the burn rate is on those items. This will help us produce the estimated "run out" date for the different items.

I find it interesting that our clients are beginning to push more and more on getting accurate live data, and then pushing things forward to help with just-in-time buying, selling, and inventory management functions. Reorder dates, thresholds, burn rates, life cycles, aging, etc. Good data is king.

Shop 1977 Calvin Time 11/30/2016   On a Zoom session with Calvin. We recorded a session of how to create a new adilas API socket from start to finish. We made the API using an existing method as a basis for the API socket. Calvin then showed me how he was pulling things and getting them ready for quick export and custom report settings. Basically, he is building a small piece of software that pulls live data and then formats it into a CSV file with a special format. All custom but using standard API method calls.
