AU 1555 Daily Ideas 11/4/2009   -Need to check the void logic on invoices. This is especially true with merchant processing and pending transactions. Currently the void does nothing with the cc transaction. This is also true with the clear cart link. It clears the cart even if a pending transaction is still tied to the cart. Maybe a warning or error message might be sufficient.

AU 1556 Daily Ideas 11/9/2009   To Do List:
- BSI Items – full E/R to BSI and E/R to vendor – E/R – BSI (default e/r types)
- Freight, shop supplies, other, fees, collected
- A/P & A/R homepage changes – revamp
- Transition Invoice
- Voids & credits & bad debt
- Sales Tax Automated – Sales tax report – options for paid date with a switch for all invoices or only paid invoices. E/R to BSI. Also think along the lines of rei’s and which sales tax was paid for with which e/r.
- Sales tax default – carts & invoices – forcing to certain tax categories. Currently only showing default – not using it or automating it.
- Multi units to other corps
- VIN # generator
- BS – Help – whiteboard session
- Accrual Accounts – special BSI Grouping. Basically, these are splits but they need to be called out all by themselves. The same might be true on the A/R side. Basically an a/r that is system maintained but is able to stand on its own. The special call out will need a name, a grouping, customer and vendor. Think corp-wide setting for master name – system-maintained call-out.
- Dewy decimal

We talked about new permissions for part quantity tracking, adding a sale price option to trailers and toppers. Showing the difference between mark-up vs. profit percentage. We also talked about creating a non-vendor specific PO and allowing part numbers to be general or homogenous (bulk/generic) and what that would take. 10 miles.
• Working on help files.

• Updated a number of other permissions and allowed the silver or specialty permissions to be assigned by corp admin.
• Working on new PO options and allowing the main PO vendor to be changed around.
• On the phone with Steve going over commission structure and ideas. Talked for about 45 minutes. We are going to try a 100, 100, 50, 10 percent deal. This means 100% commission on the first two months, 50% on the 3rd month and rolling into a 10% residual from the 4th month until the life of the corporation. We also talked about a 10% kickback on credit card transactions.

AU 1558 Daily Ideas 11/16/2009   -Add a main and line item match flag for all main pieces (deposits, invoices, PO’s, e/r’s, etc.) This will help with clean-up and making sure things match. Some reports pull from the main and some pull from the line items. This would be cool to show on the known issues report.
-Finish up the build and hold recipes.
-Add a profit per line option for cart mode.
-Add a special discount calculator for cart mode. This gets tricky with recalcing sales tax.
-On units and parts, include options, Java Script, and education between mark-up and profit percentages.
-Add stock unit description field counters. A client’s request.
-All web service calls need a cf try and cf catch wrapper. This helps when the remote service is down or unavailable without giving a random error message.
-Add customer logs and follow-up to the corp/user history reports.

AU 1559 Daily Ideas 11/19/2009   -Just an idea… maybe we could tie the different video tutorials to a help file id (already set). That number wouldn’t change. It would be easy to pass and could help us link up similar topics. Maybe even pass a list of numbers if needed.
-Another video tutorial idea – maybe we could do a pop-up type window for the videos, audio, verbage, and additional selections. The reasoning here is, let them watch the videos but don’t let them navigate too much from the player window. Simple actions like close, min, max, choose other video, etc. Maybe even pop-up window to a smaller size so they know that they changed pages. Leave the page they were viewing still open.

AU 1560 Daily Ideas 11/24/2009   -On expense homepage – on the from date range, maybe add some quick checkboxes back, like _30, _60, _90, _120, _first of the year, _way back. This could apply to all of the homepages.
-On expense line items add 4 or 5 new links. Grouped payables, Rei (18), splits (0), PO’s (7), little counters.
-On payables homepage – allow a search by due date.
-Add new link on recent e/r’s to create a new check request.
-Default an expense type per vendor.
-The word “split” bothers an associate – maybe take out the word splits and call it Account Payments. Maybe ask Steve about this. Another option might be a corp-wide setting.
-Splits – possible names: payment on account, acct. pmts., owed, unpaid expenses, basic payables, expenses on account, need pmts, e/r pmts, e/r acct pmts.

AU 2392 Brainstorming - Ideas on How to Speed Up Payables & Receivables 11/24/2009   Ideas on how to speed up payables & receivables: (A/R’s use invoice & A/P’s use PO’s & E/R’s – they use similar logic and are brothers)
1. We need a date switch on both a/r & a/p pages
- Outstanding (money still owed) default
- Paid in full
- All activity
2. We need an option that allows a date range and an age range. If the ages are used, the dates are calculated behind the scenes or the page is passed through.
- Date Range: _______ to _______ (use m/d/yy format) OR
- Age Range: ______ _Greater than (default), _Equal, _Less than
- Note: This will be above Item 1
3. On PO’s (payables) get rid of the PO date to received date age.
4. Rework all of the logic (SQL). All PO’s and E/R’s now have a paid date and paid flag.
5. Add drill-down links from vendors, employees, all e/r’s, all PO’s to current payables.
6. Rework the recent PO’s and recent E/R’s pages. Make sure they have the correct data and have links to payables sections. Need paid dates. Link to pmt history.
7. Just an idea… on stock units. Have an optional field that can be assigned to a vendor/payee (payable). This will allow me to show unit info on the grouped payable report.
8. Hide all check request links if the user doesn’t have the correct permission. Check PO & E/R vendor search page.
9. Change the basic check request permission to silver.
10. Maybe make the a/r and a/p homepages default to blank instead of full group report. Speed it up and allow the users to look more at the report types.
11. People like to see ages (only valid ages). Not every age in the book.
12. Need a master edit page for e/r dates. This is especially true for check request and items that need approval.
13. Check PO payment logic. Once they happen (behind the scenes), they are not very friendly to edit.
14. Check unit payment logic. Same extra check.
15. If we really want to make it tight. Check every option:
- Exact pmts
- Over pmts
- Under pmts
- Advanced pmts
- Pre pmts
- Bad debt pmts
- Internal pmts
- Some of these might need a section on the corp/user history page.
- The more I look at it… it seems that payments (made & received) make a huge difference and need some extra TLC.
16. Change the report type sort on a/r home page. maybe take off or do something with “Action Done By” filter and “Money Type” filter. Maybe only have them show up once that report type is selected.
17. Maybe add a new report that shows payment history for both a/r’s and a/p’s. Also included the customer and vendor name on the e/r and inv advanced payment searches. Allow payments to be filtered by vendor & customers.
18. The goal is to speed things up and make them tighter.
19. Add the invoice or e/r to payment age on the advanced pmt search results page.

AU 1561 Daily Ideas 11/30/2009   -Need a page that shows pmt history for customers (A/R’s) and vendors (A/P’s).
-Random idea – how cool would it be if you could mock-up a single action and see how it tracked through the system without any other pieces. This would show full cause and effect relationships. This same idea may also be an option as a page or status page. Basically, this goes here, that goes there, still missing xyz, step 3 of 5 completed, etc. How does this piece play into the whole mix. Think cause and effect. (phases, timeline, stamp points, flags, life cycle, aging)
